Lindsay Hoyle has reminded Jacob Rees-Mogg to announce news in Parliament before speaking to the media.
The Speaker was not impressed the business secretary revealed plans about cutting energy bills for firms.
Mr Rees-Mogg said he was not aware he could have made a Commons statement while MPs were swearing the oath to Kings Charles lll on Wednesday.
