Cadiz and Getafe neutralize each other –

This Saturday afternoon, Cadiz (19th) hosted Getafe (16th) on the occasion of the 25th day of La Liga. The Cádizois went three games without a win in February, after defeats to Valencia and Mallorca on the road and a draw against Celta Vigo at home. Sergio Gonzalez Soriano’s men, on the bench for 6 games, had the second worst attack in the championship (20 goals). Their opponent of the day, Getafe, was 6 points ahead of them and remained three games unbeaten before the one against Atletico Madrid in the last minutes last week (4-3). Since 2020, and the rise of Cadiz in La Liga, the two teams have faced each other three times, for two victories for Getafe, including that 4-0 in the first leg.

For this meeting, Cadiz played in 4-4-2, with a double striker composed of Alvaro Negredo and Anthony Lozano, while Enrique Sanchez Flores arranged his team in 5-3-2 and aligned his Turkish striker , Enes Unal (11 La Liga goals) at the forefront. In the first period, Unal’s partners opened the scoring quickly through his attacking partner, Borja Mayoral on penalty (6th). The Spaniard scored his fifth goal of the season. Dominant in the game (68% possession in the first period), Cadiz managed to equalize just before the break thanks to former Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo. During the second period, the partners of the former Cityzen still rather dominated the debates without ever finding the fault. Ranking status quo.
