The wave of revivals will bring back another animation much loved by fans. the classic futurama will get new episodes on Hulu with the return of some of the original crew, including Matt Groening — the father of the simpsons — and David X. Cohen, in addition to the voice cast.
According to Variety, there will be 20 new chapters released exclusively on streaming in 2023. There is still no specific date for the return to happen, but it is known that production will start in the next few weeks.
According to Cohen, the return of futurama it’s the opportunity to think once more about the future — “or anything that isn’t the present,” he says. Groening, on the other hand, celebrated the news by recalling what happened to the original series: “It is a true honor to announce the triumphant return of futurama one more time before we cancel everything again.”

Initially aired between 1999 and 2013, the animation was interrupted a few times and went through some network changes. Despite having always been highly praised and receiving many awards, its exhibition was marked by this inconstancy that has now become a joke by its creator.

The list left many fans worried by the absence of John DiMaggio, the original voice of the robot Bender, one of the most beloved characters in the entire series. According to Variety, sources connected to the production want to bring the actor back to the cast, but the situation is still pending and the possibility of replacing him is not ruled out.
On his Twitter profile, DiMaggio thanked fans for the campaign for his return and promised to let everyone know about news — indicating that negotiations for his participation are still ongoing.
