RAM has confirmed that it will develop its first 100% electric pickup truck: the RAM 1500 EV. In a statement, the automaker revealed that the model will be launched in 2024, with a clear – and obvious – intention to compete with the Chevrolet Silverado EV and the Ford F-150 Lightning.
To begin commercial work for the arrival of the RAM 1500 EV, the automaker launched the RAM Revolution manifesto, an interactive hub that “invites” customers and fans of the brand to follow the entire development of the pickup, which in its combustion version is a of the three best-selling vehicles in the United States.
“Our new RAM Revolution campaign will allow us to interact with consumers up close and personal so we can get meaningful feedback, understand their wants and needs and address their concerns — enabling us to deliver the best electric pickup on the market with RAM 1500 EV,” said Mike Koval Jr, CEO of RAM.
RAM took advantage of this announcement to warn that it will launch more electrified options of its pickups, namely the RAM 2500 and 3500, by 2025, with full electrification of the portfolio by 2030.
