Seko Fofana is playing his second season in the jersey of RC Lens. Precious in the midfield of the Blood and Gold of which he is the captain, Fofana is popular on the transfer market. Indeed, according to 10Sport, Burnley would have offered 18M€ for the former Udinese player. There was even talk of an interest from PSG who would like to add density to his environment. The general manager of the northern club has in any case made things clear in an interview with La Voix du Nord, saying that they had received offers: “yes, there were approaches, interests and concretely a written offer, basta. But we don’t want to sell Seko, or anyone.”.
He clarifies that the club is not in need of selling this winter, “we must achieve a certain amount of sales, which can be adapted according to the situation, on the next transfer window, we will do it“, he explains. He concludes by giving his opinion on the will of his captain, and on the uncertainty of the world of football:if Seko wants to stay, every morning, he stays! […] For me, Seko gives no sign of wanting to leave. […] Never say never. Seko, I’m telling you this today, but tomorrow, if a tough club knocks on the door, Seko tells us that it’s a project he believes in, adheres to, maybe on January 31, he’s not more there. From everything I see, he’s closer to being there for a long time than anything but it can happen»
Seko Fofana was monstrous in 2021, he decided to prove that he could do even better in 2022. Take things in hand like that at the last minute and assume his responsibilities, the mark of the very great. pic.twitter.com/ayxvWVwuO2
