We will be able to see new devices from Oppo, Motorola, Samsung, and also from Xiaomi — in addition to the company’s folding flip. The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is already rumored, and as expected, it should be a top of the line.
Many were frustrated when the original Mi Mix Fold was announced. After all, its availability will be limited to China, serving more for Xiaomi to mark a technological position. As for the successor, the company is expected to rehearse a global launch — even if for select markets.
According to the insider Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 should have one of the biggest screens among the foldable ones: it would be 8 inches of internal screen, when unfolded. The display is expected to preserve the 120 Hz already observed in the first generation.

LTPO for longer battery life
In fact, the screen should have LTPO technology, allowing adaptive refresh rate. This would mean that the phone could achieve excellent fluidity when scrolling through pages, but display images at 60 Hz or less when animations are not needed, such as on the lock screen or while viewing a photo.
This feature has great potential to help foldable cell phones go further in autonomy. This is still one of the difficulties of the segment, serving as a barrier for the consumer to feel more confident of exchanging a traditional smartphone for a flexible one – in addition, of course, to the higher price.
Finally, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 must have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 included. Many details are still uncertain. For example, we don’t know if this time the flexible will have a camera on the internal screen or if it will be compatible with a stylus, as a patent suggests.
For now, rumors are in charge of offering some data, but no date. As foldables are a more delicate subject, it is not safe to say that the company will announce the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 in the first quarter, as it did in 2021. But it will certainly do so sometime in 2022.
