Battlefield 2042 zombies mode is removed for fixes –

Launched last week, the Zombie Survival mode from battlefield 2042 was removed from the game after 24 hours of the premiere. The shooter’s game mode partner developer, Ripple Effect studio, explained on social media that a bug in matches with hordes of zombies was giving players more experience than it should have.

In Zombie Survival mode, a small team of human players must rise up against a horde of the undead. Justin Wiebe, Senior Design Director at Ripple Effect Studios, explained that he will be working on the zombie mode progression alignment. “We removed Zombie mode and replaced it with Gun Game,” he wrote. “Hopefully we can fix it in the future and keep it in line with the game’s default progression. We’ve also beefed up our review process to ensure this doesn’t happen again. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”

Responding to the message on the social network, one player reported that the mode was getting a “mix of reactions” from fans. On the topic, Wiebe added: “I think there was potential for the mode, but it needs to go back to the workshop a little bit. Regardless, we need to focus on more important issues like improving core experience progression.”

battlefield 2042 is built around the idea of progression. As the player gains experience and level up, they can unlock new weapons, vehicles, skins, and gear in the main game modes. That makes it one of the most important things for the team to get right, and the introduction of fan-made modes in Portal – the game’s creation suite – breaks progression, threatening the entire system.

The shooter arrived on computers, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 19, 2021, as one of the most ambitious in Electronic Arts’ FPS series. However, among nearly 50,000 reviews on Steam, just over 12,000 are positive (about 26%), while 36,000 are negative (74%).
