Steam released a retrospective of the most played games on the platform in 2021 and, to the surprise of some, cyberpunk 2077 is on the list. The CD Projekt RED game was long awaited by fans, but turned into a fiasco due to bugs, poor performance and graphics below expectations, especially on consoles.
To build the list, Steam considered games that surpassed the peak of 200,000 simultaneous players. Check the ranking below, which does not have a specific order.

In September, the Kenyannews published a similar list of the most played games on Steam in 2021. However, we use a different method of selection: we consider the average of simultaneously active players per month from data from the SteamDB website. That’s why, cyberpunk 2077 did not appear in our ranking.

Since the release of the action RPG in December 2020, CD Projekt RED has released bug fixes and improved overall game performance. Currently, the title has about 421,000 “slightly positive” reviews on the platform. In 2022, the game should receive graphical improvements for next-gen consoles.
