First of Intel’s video cards for the gamer market, a variant of the Arc Alchemist DG2 was found in the Ashes of the Singularity game database, popularly used for benchmarking, and responsible for the leak of several components from AMD, Nvidia, Intel and others. Of unknown configuration, the GPU in question managed to deliver performance close to that of high-performance rivals, but caution is still needed.
Arc Alchemist DG2 Shows Promising Performance in Test
Found by renowned leaker @TUM_APISAK, the result was achieved by machine equipped with an Intel Core i9 12900K and 32 GB of RAM, plus unspecified “Intel Xe Graphics” GPU. Considering the performance obtained, it is one of the models of the Arc Alchemist gamer family, with a DG2 chip.

In the Medium preset in Full HD, the Intel board was able to get 12,500 points at a frame rate of 126.9 FPS. The numbers put the novelty on the same level as the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, an enthusiastic solution from Nvidia, but caution is needed: this level of performance is also achieved by the Radeon RX 6700 XT and even by the old Radeon RX 5700, as shown by other results from game’s own database, which basically invalidates the results.
This is hardly a surprise — Ashes of the Singularity is often not an accurate reference for developing hardware, especially since it relies on variables like memory, preset, processing, and more. Despite this, the record is nonetheless a good sign, as it not only reinforces that the Arc Alchemist family is in advanced development, nearing release, but also indicates there is enough firepower to match rivals’ dedicated solutions.
GPU lineup arrives in early 2022
Intel recently released a gameplay video from the Arc Alchemist family that reinforces the features and high level of performance that the company’s first dedicated graphics cards are expected to deliver, beyond the anticipated launch window. Highly recognized titles were shown, including Hitman 3, The Riftbreaker, Back 4 Blood and Age of Empires IV, supposedly running natively on GPUs.
Also among the highlights were the presence of hardware acceleration for Ray Tracing and Intel XeSS, a technique similar to DLSS that will use data from previous frames and Artificial Intelligence for upscaling, reducing stress on the graphics chip. Led by DG2-512, with 4,096 cores, the Arc Alchemist family arrives in the first quarter of 2022, with possible announcement taking place during CES 2022 on January 4th.
