The self-proclaimed Renamo Military Junta, the largest group of dissidents from the Mozambican opposition, was demobilized.
The Renamo Military Junta (JMR), the largest dissident group of the Mozambican National Resistance (Renamo), responsible for numerous armed attacks in the center of the country, was completely demobilized. “We are pleased to inform you that the last members of JMR have been demobilized. This last group of 24 members of the Military Junta has completed the demobilization and has now joined the other participants in the disarmament, demobilization and reintegration activities under way in Mozambique”, says the personal envoy of the UN secretary general, Mirko Manzoni, in a statement distributed this Thursday to the media.
