The spokesperson for the Bryan Acheampong Campaign Team, Pius Enam Hadzide, has urged the Deputy Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman, Thomas Ampem Nyarko, to use his influence in government to ensure the completion of major road projects in the constituency.
Speaking on Face to Face on Channel One TV with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the 2024 NPP parliamentary candidate for the area expressed concern that several contractors working on key roads in Asuogyaman had abandoned their sites since the change in government.
He said that although work on some roads, including the Jekiti and Anum-Bunso roads, began during the Akufo-Addo administration, progress stalled after the 2024 elections.
“During the last administration, we ensured the contract for the rehabilitation of the road was executed. Work had begun, and we were steadily on course. From around Marine to Sedorm Junction and Ajinadono Junction, significant progress had been made,” he explained.

Mr. Hadzide attributed the delays partly to the financial challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic but said he expected the projects to have been completed now.
“The contractor was very active on site, and we hoped to complete the project in record time. Unfortunately, the impact of COVID-19 and its implications on state finances delayed progress. We lost the election, and since then, the contractor has not returned to site,” he said.
He appealed to Mr. Ampem Nyarko, to leverage his position to ensure the projects are completed.
“I can only hope and pray that now that we have a finance minister as our MP, he will use his influence in government to ensure that this project is completed and completed on time,” Mr. Hadzide stated.
He added that Asuogyaman, despite its vast natural endowments and development potential, continues to lag behind and deserves urgent attention.
“If you look at the God-given potential of Asuogyaman, we are lagging far behind. There is enormous potential, and now the people have reposed their confidence in Honourable Thomas Ampem Nyarko. I wish him well and pray for him to have the strength and wisdom to do what we wanted to do,” he added.
