Regis Prograis Wants Ryan Garcia, Haney, Tank, Teofimo & Broner

By Allan Fox: Regis Prograis says he’s hoping to get fights against Ryan Garcia, Adrien Broner, Devin Haney, Teofimo Lopez & Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis.

WBC light welterweight champion Prograis (28-1, 24 KOs) wants at least one of them, if not all before his career is over, and he feels he’ll beat them all.

Unfortunately, it’s questionable whether Prograis will get any of the fighters on his list, apart from the faded former four-division world champion Broner (34-4-1, 24 KOs), while he’s still in his prime. Broner has already stated that he wants Prograis next after his comeback fight against Hank Lundy on February 25th.

Prograis is already being avoided, with Teofimo Lopez, Jose Ramirez, and Josh Taylor steering clear of him.

“It’s a lot of them. Hopefully, I can get one of them or all of them. It’s Broner; it’s Tank; it’s Ryan Garcia; it’s Teofimo Lopez. That’s four people that I just named? I should get at least one of them. They got to give me at least one of them,” said Regis Prograis to Fighthype when asked who he wants to fight.

“If you ask me if I’m open to fighting him? Of course,” said Prograis when asked about his thoughts on Devin Haney. “I’m open to fight the winner, and I’m open to fighting the loser.  You can’t say one name in this world at 140 that I wouldn’t fight. I’d fight all of them.

“I think maybe Tank, but I don’t really believe that in my heart, but I’ll say Tank,” said Regis when asked who would give him the toughest fight out of Tank, Ryan Garcia, and Adrien Broner. “I don’t think Ryan Garcia would be that tough.

“Yeah, for sure,” Prograis said when asked if Tank will be a harder fight than Jose Ramirez. “Yeah, I think Tank would be harder than Ramirez. I think, style-wise, he’d be tougher than Ramirez.

“I think the toughest of them all is Adrien Broner, fight-wise. I’ll definitely win the fight pretty easily, but he’s tough. He’s never been stopped. He’s fought some of the best. Adrien Broner fought Pacquiao. For me, I think he’d be the toughest of them all, but all of them are kind of in the same box with me.

“It’s different in the 140 division because, at 147, it was only two names [Errol Spence Jr & Terence Crawford]. At 140, you got a bunch of names, a bunch of big names. So, I should at least get one of them because all of those are big fights.

“I think it’s a good fight,” said Prograis about the Devin Haney vs. Vasyl Lomachenko clash in May. “I favor Devin just a little bit more. Devin is bigger and a little bit younger, so I favor him, but Lomachenko is still Lomachenko. He’s still real good at what he does, but I just favor Devin.
