The first-ever NBA Rivals Week tips off when the Celtics take on the Heat Tuesday night.
After meeting in last year’s Eastern Conference Finals, Tuesday’s game marks the fourth and final meeting between the familiar foes in the 2022-23 regular season. While Boston took the first two games, Miami earned a four-point overtime win on Dec. 2 thanks to the late-game heroics of Jimmy Butler.
Any time these two teams meet, the conversation naturally begins with Butler and Celtics star Jayson Tatum, who went off for 49 points in a late November win over the Heat this year.

And while Butler and Tatum dominate the headlines, Miami’s cast of Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro and Kyle Lowry make for quite the matchup with Boston’s Al Horford, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart.
The Celtics continue to strengthen their hold on the NBA’s best record, but the Heat are starting to figure things out after a tough start to the season, meaning Tuesday’s matchup should be a battle worth tuning into.
