Trevor Lawrence Saturday record: Jaguars QB looks to keep amazing unbeaten streak alive vs. Chiefs

Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars are getting ready for a key playoff battle against the Chiefs in the divisional round of the 2023 NFL postseason.

The Chiefs are heavily favored to win the game. They beat the Jaguars 27-17 earlier in the season, and many are anticipating that Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes will overwhelm a young Jaguars team that is fresh off a miraculous comeback win over the Chargers.

That said, Jacksonville does have at least one factor in its favor for the contest: It is being played on Saturday.

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has gone undefeated on Saturdays since his high school career began in 2014. And it hasn’t come in a small sample size, as it has spanned his four high school seasons, three college campaigns and two-plus NFL seasons to date.

Just how good is Lawrence’s Saturday record? Here’s a breakdown of how successful Lawrence has been playing on that day of the week.

What is Trevor Lawrence’s Saturday record?

Trevor Lawrence is a perfect 37-0 on Saturdays since his high school career began in 2014.

As one would expect, Lawrence logged most of his Saturday action during his three-year college career at Clemson. Below is a breakdown of how he fared on Saturday at the high school, college and NFL levels.

Level Saturday record
High school 3-0
College 32-0
NFL 2-0
Total Record: 37-0

Of course, Lawrence hasn’t just been good on Saturdays. He found a lot of success as a starter during his high school and college days and seems to have found his footing after a rocky start to his NFL career.

Trevor Lawrence high school record

Lawrence was named the starting quarterback at Cartersville (Ga.) High during his freshman season. He went on to start for the team in each of his four high school seasons and posted a 52-2 record.

Lawrence’s first loss came in a 27-3 defeat against Buford on Dec. 5, 2014. That game was played on a Friday, and Buford’s dominant defense flummoxed the then-true freshman Lawrence.

After that, Lawrence didn’t lose again until 2017. The loss came in the final game of his high school career, as Blessed Trinity found a way to claw out a 21-17 victory over Cartersville. Lawrence threw just one touchdown in that game despite throwing 41 total (and just one interception) on the season.

That said, each of Lawrence’s losses came on Fridays. He only played three Saturday games during his high school career and won all of them.

Trevor Lawrence college record

Lawrence started 36 games during his time at Clemson and posted an incredible 34-2 record in those contests with the only losses coming in College Football Playoff games.

Lawrence’s first loss was to the Joe Burrow-led LSU team in the 2019 National Championship Game. LSU’s explosive offense overpowered Clemson in that one and helped to solidify Burrow’s standing as the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

A year later, Lawrence and Clemson lost to Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl, which was a CFP Semifinal that year. Lawrence threw for 400 yards in the contest but Ohio State’s explosive offense put up 49 in a 21-point victory over the Tigers.

Those games were played on a Monday and Friday, respectively, which meant that Lawrence’s pristine Saturday record was kept intact during his three college seasons. Overall, he went 32-0 on Saturdays at Clemson and 2-2 on any other day of the week.

Trevor Lawrence NFL record

Lawrence’s NFL record isn’t nearly as impressive as his record in college or high school. He endured a tough start to his career during Urban Meyer’s disastrous 13-game tenure with the Jaguars but has bounced back in Year 2 under Doug Pederson.

All told, Lawrence has a career record of just 13-22 as a starter including the playoffs. He is 10-8 in 18 games played during the 2022 regular season and 2023 postseason, and that includes two wins in his only two Saturday appearances.

Lawrence’s first-ever Saturday NFL appearance came in Week 18 against the Titans. The Jaguars emerged victorious and clinched the AFC South with their 20-16 win.

Lawrence’s second Saturday NFL win was even more impressive. He helped rally the Jaguars back from a 27-0 deficit against the Chargers in the wild-card round of the 2023 NFL playoffs to earn a 31-30 victory as time expired. Lawrence threw four interceptions in the first half of the game but led the Jaguars on scoring drives each time they touched the ball in the second half.

So, Lawrence clearly has some good juju on Saturdays. And it appears that Doug Pederson is looking to avoid jinxing Lawrence’s record as the Jaguars gear up for their third consecutive Saturday game.
