Juventus: Serie A side given 15-point deduction as Tottenham’s Fabio Paratici handed 30-month ban from Italian football |

Juventus have been deducted 15 Serie A points for alleged financial irregularities and false accounting, while Tottenham’s transfer chief Fabio Paratici has been handed a two-and-a-half-year ban from Italian football for his involvement.

Paratici’s ban includes a request for an extension to cover UEFA and FIFA activities.

With 20 games left to play this season, Juve were third in Serie A, 10 points adrift of leaders Napoli. The points deduction would push them down into mid-table, outside the spots for European competition.

The Italian national football federation (FIGC) decided on a 30-month ban for Juve’s former sporting director Paratici, who is now managing director of football at Spurs.

The court also ruled that former Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli is to be banned from holding office in Italian football for 24 months.

Juventus have denied wrongdoing and said their accounting was in line with industry standards.

The club can appeal the decision to Italy’s highest sports court within the Italian Olympic Committee.

Sky Sports News has contacted Tottenham for comment in relation to the sanction handed out against Paratici – there is no suggestion he’s done any wrongdoing while at Spurs.
