Florida State University women’s team starts the season this weekend

As reported by the Florida State University website, the women’s tennis team will open the 2023 tennis season this weekend, hosting three matches at home. Admission to matches at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center is free.

Real-time statistics will be available. Florida will start today, Friday, against FGCU, and then they will host Mercer and FAMU in a Sunday doubleheader beginning. Also as reported via a statement on the University website, Florida is led by junior Anna Arkadianou, who is 52nd in the individual preseason rankings.

She won nine singles matches and three doubles matches during the fall season, including undefeated singles runs at The Fall Tournament in Alabama and the UNF Invitational. Sophomore Olympe Lancelot had a top 10 singles win during the fall, adding six doubles wins.

Redshirt sophomore Alice Amendola posted an 8-1 mark in singles with five doubles wins in the fall tournament season. Senior Vic Allen, freshman Millie Bissett, fresh Cade Cricchio and senior Mila Saric had six singles hits this fall.

Senior Kianah Motosono recorded a team best seven wins in doubles during the fall, including a 3-1 mark with junior Ellie Schoppe finishing the fall with six total wins in doubles. Bissett and Lancelot each had six wins playing doubles, including three playing pairs.
