Andrew Tate has detention extended amid human-trafficking investigation

Andrew Tate’s detention in a Romanian jail has been extended until February 27.

The former kickboxing champion was arrested last month, along with his brother Tristan, in connection with an investigation into alleged human trafficking, rape and forming an organised crime group. They were detained for 30 days on December 30 as the investigation continued, meaning they would have been due for release on January 30.

However, a Romanian court has now ruled that their detention may be extended, with a potential further month added on that would set a new release date at February 27. Police are still building their case against the brothers, as well as two other individuals who were taken in on the same day.

Tate and his brother have both denied the allegations against them.
