Florida State University men’s team 10th in the ITA Rankings

The Florida State University men’s tennis team moved up to 10th in this week’s ITA rankings, after the rankings were released Wednesday following a 3-0 start to the two-game season. As reported by the Florida University website, Florida defeated Georgia.

Florida will host FAU at 1pm on Saturday. Admission to matches at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center is free. Florida is led by Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc, who is the No. 12 singles player in the nation. All three of his singles wins this season have been over ranked opponents, including #1 singles player Ethan Quinn from Georgia.

Youcef Rihane, ranked 24 nationally, is also 3-0 in singles. Sophomore Jamie Connel, who is ranked 53rd in the country, is 2-0 with a win over the 21st nationally ranked player against Georgia. Junior Andreja Petrovic’s two victories also include a classified victory over the 70th individual finisher.

FSU is second among the six ACC teams in the top 25 this week, trailing only first-ranked Virginia, and ahead of 14th-ranked Wake Forest, No. 18 North Carolina, No. 20 Duke and no. 21 NC State.
