After journalist Jose Morgado tweeted the ATP Awards nominees of 2022, Nick Kyrgios replied with an outstanding claim, suggesting that he should be named coach of the year. “Tbh I should be in coach of the year, I coached myself to a Wimbledon final,” Kyrgios wrote on Twitter.

Djokovic told Kyrgios he will fight again for a Grand Slam

Djokovic stated after winning his seventh Wimbledon title that Kyrgios was a difficult opponent.

Djokovic also told Kyrgios to keep his head up because he would one day win another Grand Slam. “Nick, you’ll be back. Not just at Wimbledon, but in finals. I know it’s tough to find words of consolation after a tough loss like this, but you showed why you deserve to be one of the best players in the world, particularly on this surface.

Congrats to you and your team for an amazing tournament, I wish you all the best,” Djokovic told Kyrgios on the court following the Wimbledon final. Related: Ex-AO boss gives verdict on Novak Djokovic’s Wimbledon final win over Nick Kyrgios.

Kyrgios, however, did not earn any points for his Wimbledon run and that was taxing for him. In the Race to Turin singles list, Kyrgios was 22nd with 1,870 points. It should be noted that Kyrgios – this year’s Wimbledon runner-up – would have 1,300 points more had the ATP counted Wimbledon points.

“Should of (sic) been in singles as well [but] no points at Wimbledon. First time in 53 years but we won’t speak of that,” Kyrgios wrote on his Instagram Story.
