Taylor Fritz jokingly said he is excited about competing at the United States because there is a good chance the United States will be carried by Jessica Pegula and Madison Keys. Between 29 December and 08 January, the inaugural edition of the United Cup will be taking place in Australia.

The United Cup is a mixed event, where 18 nations will compete. At the United Cup, the United States will be represented by Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, Denis Kudla, Hunter Reese. When it comes to the women’s part of the United States team, there will be world No 3 Pegula, 11th-ranked Keys, four-time Grand Slam mixed doubles champion Desirae Krawczyk and Alycia Parks.

“The most exciting about the United Cup for me is potentially getting carried because we have really good girls from our country. Hopefully, the girls will get some wins for us, and, you know, my work will be minimal,” Fritz said in a video for the United Cup.

Fritz to prepare for the United Cup in Saudi Arabia

Fritz, who capped off his 2022 season by representing the United States at last week’s Davis Cup Finals in Malaga, will be in action between 08-10 December at the Diriyah Tennis Cup in Saudi Arabia.

Fritz won’t be the only big name in Riyadh as the Diriyah Tennis Cup field also includes Daniil Medvedev, Nick Kyrgios, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev. “As the host of international tennis stars, the Kingdom continues to show its excellence in hosting international sports events, which has made it home to various sports, including this event – in which international stars will participate – that we are happy to organize.

The 2019 Diriyah Tennis Cup achieved great success which attracted thousands of fans from the Kingdom and abroad, and in this edition, we look forward to continuing these accomplishments and watching great competitive games in historic Diriyah, in the presence of fans of tennis, a sport that is highly popular in the Kingdom,” Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, sports minister and chair of the Diriyah Season Committee said.
