Venus Williams celebrated the 28th anniversary of her tennis debut by sharing pictures of her wearing a dress made by her mother on the tennis court.
Serena shared the pictures posted by Venus on Instagram.
“On this day 28 years ago I made my debut to professional tennis.
I never imagined 28 years later what @serenawilliams and I would experience in this sport. I can recount the wins and the losses, but in the end it was always about the pursuit of my best self. Everyday, win lose or draw. I can look back with no regrets.
It’s all been worth it,” wrote Venus on Instagram.
Coco Gauff reacted to Venus Williams’ Instagram post.
“Queen,” Gauff commented. ATP star Reilly Opelka also chipped in with a comment. “My idol,” Opelka wrote. Venus Williams replied to Opelka. “My partner in crime. Give me your serve lol,” answered Venus.
Fans told Opelka to ask Venus out
A number of Venus Williams’ Instagram fans were sick of seeing ATP star Reilly Opelka comments on several of Venus’ Instagram photos and advised the star to ask Serena’s sister out.

In 2021, Venus clarified the situation after other followers were interested in the relationship between Venus and Reilly Opelka. “Are you and Reilly dating?” the follower asked. “No @ReillyOpelka shot me down,” she responded.
