Novak Djokovic acknowledged that it is great to have a great head-to-head against the majority of top players but added he would prefer not to be thought of as “The Monster of Tennis.” Since it’s Halloween, one reporter asked Djokovic at the Paris Masters whether he would like to be thought of as tennis’ monster.

Djokovic owns a pretty strong head-to-head against many top players, including his biggest rivals – Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray. “The monster? I don’t know the significance of that word in your language, but in mine is not really the best.

I prefer not to be the Monster of Tennis. But yeah, the record against most of the top players, well, against pretty much all of the top players is positive, which is great,” Djokovic said, per Sportskeeda.

Djokovic thinks his experience has played a key role in his success

Djokovic, 35, has been playing on the highest level for a decade and a half now.

Even though Djokovic is now well in his thirties, he is still a dominant and strong figure in the sport. Now, Djokovic suggests his experience and knowledge about the game played a key role in helping him stay on top even at this part of his career.

“You know, we played so many tournaments throughout the year and throughout our careers, and some of us have been there more than some of the younger players. So playing more matches helps, I think, to know how to approach every next big challenge when you play one of your top rivals.

I have managed to do well throughout my career, which is great, which is something that I always intended to do,” he stated. Meanwhile, Djokovic is preparing to open his title defence at the Paris Masters. Djokovic, who is the sixth-seeded player in Paris, has a first-round bye at the tournament. Djokovic is a six-time Paris champion as he is hoping to enjoy another deep run at Bercy this year.
