Roger Federer has played in 31 Major finals, lifting 20 trophies and standing in the exclusive group with Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Roger will end his career on Friday at the Laver Cup, struggling with a knee injury and failing to play injury-free after three surgeries.

Roger and Novak joked about their epic 2019 Wimbledon final. It was the last Major final for the Swiss, and he squandered a massive opportunity to conquer the ninth Wimbledon title. Roger wasted two match points on his serve and experienced a heartbreaking 7-6, 1-6, 7-6, 4-6, 13-12 loss in four hours and 57 minutes.

Federer wasted a colossal chance to lift another Major title at nearly 38, winning 14 points more than Djokovic and outplaying the Serb with 40 extra winners on his tally.
Roger wasted those two match points and missed two break chances at 11-11 in the final set before Novak prevailed in the match tie break and stole the crown. The Serb gave his best to stay in contention and fight against the rival who had the upper hand in the more significant part of the encounter.
Djokovic did what he had to in the pivotal moments, carried by the incredible inner strength that helped him against Roger and the crowd. After two hours and 15 minutes, Novak had two sets to one lead despite earning no break points!
Federer led 5-3 in the first set’s tie break before dropping four straight points to hand it to Djokovic. Novak hit no winners or errors, allowing Roger to make mistakes and ruin everything he built in the last 55 minutes.
The Swiss quickly left this setback behind him and stormed over the Serb to grab the second set 6-1 in dominant style. Federer was a better player in the third set, but he wasted a break chance ahead of the second tie break.
Novak clinched it 7-4 after Roger’s six errors, four in an unforced area from the backhand wing that cost him a slow start and a better finish! Federer bounced back and won the fourth set to force a decider, staying composed despite not having room for errors.
They stayed neck and neck, and the scoreboard went to the distance at 6-6. Djokovic defended two match points on the return at 7-8 in the pivotal moments of the encounter, overpowering Federer and the crowd to break back and prolong the battle.
Novak saved two break points at 11-11 and became the favorite ahead of the deciding tie break, the first ever in the Wimbledon finals! Novak claimed it 7-3 to wrap up the title and one of his most extraordinary victories ever.
