During the first-round match against Wang at Japan Open, Australian Ellen Perez, WTA world number 19 in doubles, tripped on court. After the match, Perez joked about the fall and made a funny comment about it. “Can we please acknowledge the ghost that took out my feet,” Perez tweeted.

Also, Perez expressed her dissatisfaction about the wrong call from the umpire.

“Can we also please acknowledge the fact I swear she misses it… When I pause it, it maybe looks on video to touch but in my quick glimpse in the moment I promise I saw a ball land just out,” wrote Perez.

Perez lost the match in 3 sets (7-5, 1-6, 6-4), but is still alive in the doubles competition.
