Week 1 of the college football season rolls on on Sunday with a primetime matchup between traditional powers LSU and Florida State.
Both teams are looking for a revival of sorts, with new coaches at the centers of those respective storylines. LSU is looking for a relatively quick turnaround — having won a title as recently as 2019 — with Brian Kelly. He left Notre Dame as the Fighting Irish’s winningest coach with the hope of finally winning a national championship, a goal the Tigers undoubtedly share with him.
At Florida State, Mike Norvell is hoping Year 3 will see a huge jump after leading the Seminoles to 3-6 and 5-7 seasons in 2020 and 2021, respectively. He has yet to experience the kind of success he had at Memphis, where he led the Tigers to two double-digit-win seasons in three years.
