Serena Williams vs. Ajla Tomljanovic live score, results, highlights from 2022 US Open third round

The beat goes on for Serena Williams.

In what is expected to be her final tennis tournament, the legend refuses to leave early. Williams pulled off an upset of world No. 2 Anett Kontaveit in the second round, and now the picture of her road to the US Open singles final looks more clear with the highest-ranked player on her side of the bracket eliminated.

That doesn’t mean the road will be easy. Williams will face No. 46-ranked Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round of the 2022 US Open on Friday night.

Tomljanovic had to work in her last match, falling 6-1 in the first set to Evgeniya Rodina before winning the next two sets 6-2 and 7-5. She swept her first-round opponent, Karolina Muchova, in straight sets 7-5, 6-1.
