Casemiro has revealed that Erik ten Hag convinced him to join United as the Brazilian made the £70million switch from Real Madrid.

He told the Man Utd website: “The opportunity to start a new challenge at Manchester United and in the Premier League is extremely exciting. “I’m ending one beautiful journey in Madrid whilst starting another in Manchester as determined as ever to win football matches, win trophies and make our fans proud by bringing success to this great club.

His brother and agent shared two pictures on his Instagram story and one of them, which has since been deleted, showed that they were sat on the sofa watching United beat their old foe 2-1.

Anti-Glazer protests held

United fans staged their latest protest against the Glazers before their clash with Liverpool, with a heavy police presence required.

Fan anger has long been directed at the club’s owners and their supporter base has rallied together once more to make their feelings known at Old Trafford. Several supporter groups have come together as they look to make a lawful protest against the top brass, marching from The Tollgate pub towards Old Trafford.

Huge numbers of fans gathered together and have been filmed on social media chanting “We want Glazers out” with flares also being lit. They were rumours last week that the Glazers were potentially open to selling a stake in the club they have seen decline over the past decade.
