Solheim Cup, three vice-captains for Europe

Team Europe captain Suzann Pettersen has named the vice-captains for the 2023 Solheim Cup: Anna Nordqvist, Dame Laura Davies and Caroline Martens. The Solheim Cup will be played at Finca Cortesín, in Andalusia from 18 to 24 September 2023.

The trio will work side by side with the Capitana, bringing their own contribution of skills, knowledge and experience, and aiming for the third consecutive victory.

“It has been the greatest honor of my career to be named Team Europe Captain and I am thrilled to be able to name my three Vice-Captains,” said Suzann Pettersen. “I am thrilled with what Caroline, Anna and Laura can give to the team, and we will try to defend the Cup in Spain.

With all three by my side, I couldn’t ask for anything better and I’m sure they will be great for our team ”. Anna Nordqvist, winner of three Majors, is a constant presence in the last seven editions of the Solheim Cup having played from 2009 to 2021, winning four times and scoring 15.5 points for Team Europe.

Anna Nordqvist, who recently won the LET Big Green Egg Open 2022, has shared fairways with Suzann Pettersen many times in past editions of the Solheim Cup. Laura Davies brings her rich experience, having 12 appearances in the competition, as well as being vice-captain in the 2019 and 2021 editions alongside Catriona Matthew.

Davies is a living legend of women’s golf, she has achieved golfing recognition around the world with 87 tournament wins including 45 Ladies European Tour titles and 20 LPGA Tour titles, as well as winning a record seven LET Order of Merit titles.

Finally, Suzann Pettersen has chosen Norwegian colleague and lifelong friend Caroline Martens to join her staff. Martens played on the Ladies European Tour for eight seasons winning the 2013 LET Q-School.
