At the Laver Cup 2022, a tournament organized by Roger Federer, all the Fab Four will play together for the first time in history: with the Swiss there will be Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic. The former Basel number one was the first announcement of the tournament, also giving clues as to what could be the date of his return this season after a year or more of hiatus.

Then came the return of the Fedals: a rivalry with Rafael Nadal that turned into a soldier, forming a great doubles couple in the first year of this event, back in 2017. Such an important event taking place at 02 London could not deprive itself of its landlord and other former world number one, Andy Murray.

Never worn in the blue uniform of the Europe team, the Briton will make his Laver Cup debut this year, right in front of his home crowd. The last member to be announced was Novak Djokovic: the Serbian had declared at a press conference that he wanted to manage his appointments also in view of his presence in London with the other champions, as well as his rivals.

Beyond, however, the emotions that the court can offer, the Laver Cup wants to amaze even outside the tennis court and does so with Kate Middleton.

The gesture of Federer and the Duchess

As announced on the social profiles of the Laver Cup, during the event there will be a collaboration between Kate Middleton and Roger Federer for charity: all the proceeds collected from the sale of tickets for the Laver Cup Open Practice Day, on 22 September 2022, will be divided between the Action for Children charities and the LTA Tennis Foundation.

Not only the gesture of charity, given that Kate Middleton and Roger Federer will take the field for this event: in view of this day, there will also be a day dedicated to tennis in East London, where both the Duchess of Cambridge and the Swiss champion.

Federer will come back on the court after Wimbledon 2021, a year and more from his last match.
