Wasps on course, 38-year-old man in hospital

A 38-year-old man from Vigo had to be transferred to the Montecelo Hospital in Pontevedra last Friday after receiving several stings from velutine wasps when he was at the Real Club de Golf de la Illa da Toxa, in O Grove.

According to Europa Press sources from the Local Police, it was those present who, a little before 12:00 noon, gave notice to both the municipal body and 061, who decided to move a medicalized helicopter.

The Police sent two patrols to the island to help with the tasks of landing the aircraft. Meanwhile, two toilets from the O Grove continuous care point (PAC) went to the golf course to give first aid to the man after receiving the punctures.

Finally, these professionals were able to stabilize the patient, who was transferred to the Montecelo de Pontevedra Hospital in an ambulance without the need to use the helicopter. According to the local police, the man “is already well”
