Now, Zverev has launched the Alexander Zverev foundation, which has the goal of supporting diabetic children. “The 6th of August 2022 is a very special day for my family and I. Today, the Alexander Zverev Foundation has officially come to life, supporting children with type 1 diabetes and helping people prevent type 2 diabetes by living a healthy and active life.

Our mission is to provide insulin and life saving medicine to children in developing countries and those in need. And as a type 1 diabetic myself, I want to encourage children with diabetes to never give up on their dreams no matter what others might say to you.

The only limit is the one you set yourself,” Zverev wrote on Instagram.

Zverev recovering from an ankle surgery

Meanwhile, Zverev is still recovering from an ankle surgery and he won’t be participating at next week’s Montreal Masters.

Zverev has been sidelined since the French Open as he tore several ankle ligaments during his semifinal meeting versus Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros. Ending his French Open run on such an unfortunate way was a difficult pill to swallow for Zverev, but he is staying positive and focused on returning stronger.

Zverev still hasn’t withdrawn from the Cincinnati Masters, which starts on August 14. Zverev playing at the Cincinnati Masters may be a long shot, but the German still hasn’t given up on his hopes of participating at the US Open.

The US Open starts on August 29 and it remains to be seen if Zverev will be there. Zverev reached his first and lone Grand Slam final at the US Open in 2020.
