Makoun joined Charlotte from Inter Miami ahead of their 2022 expansion season, going on to make 15 appearances for the club across all competitions. The 22-year-old – capped twice for Venezuela at senior level – played 30 times for the Herons prior to signing for CLTFC.

With Makoun leaving, a space now opens up at center-back for Charlotte FC, with sources telling 90min the club remains on track with plans to sign Adilson Malanda from French Ligue 2 club Rodez.
