The English Justin Rose, former world number 1, gold in the JJ.OO. of Rio de Janeiro 2016 and winner of a ‘big’ (US Open), will be one of the great rivals of Jon Rahm who confirmed his presence weeks ago, at the Acciona Open of Spain golf, which will be played from 6 to 9 next October, at the Madrid Country Club.

Justin Rose, already confirmed by the organization of the Spanish Open and who will turn 42 this July 30, was at the top of the world ranking in September 2018, to spend eight seasons among the 10 best in the world.

To his credit he has, among other triumphs, the US Open in 2013, three victories in the Ryder Cup (2012, 2014 and 2018), eleven titles on the DP World Tour and ten on the PGA Tour, as well as an Olympic gold in Rio de Janeiro 2016.

Justin Peter Rose, MBE (born July 30, 1980 in Johannesburg, South Africa) is an English professional golfer on the North American PGA TOUR and the European Tour. In September 2018, Rose topped the world golf rankings for the first time.

By April 2019, he had fought for the top position five times in competition with Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka. Justin Rose came to England at the age of 5 and enjoyed a successful amateur career as a youngster, which he crowned in 1998 – before he was 18 – with a sensational fourth place at the Open Championship in Royal Birkdale.

A week after the major, he became a professional golfer, but was initially unable to assert himself. From the 2001 season, which Rose was able to complete as 33rd in the European Tour Order of Merit, he established himself in the European elite and in 2002 he won two titles.

Rose was ranked 9th on the money list at the end of that season and achieved his best ranking in the world golf rankings at 33rd in 2003. In November 2006 he won his third tournament on the European Tour, the Australian MasterCard Masters, which is part of the 2007 season and is a joint event with the PGA Tour of Australasia.

With another success, that at the Volvo Masters – the high-paying final tournament of the European Tour – he was able to secure first place in the European money rankings (European Tour Order of Merit) and thus the Harry Vardon Trophy in the 2007 season, as well as temporarily under break into the top 10 of the world golf rankings.

On the US PGA TOUR, Rose achieved his first tournament victory in June 2010 at the Memorial Tournament, followed by a second one a month later. In 2018 he won the FedEx Cup, the final ranking of this world’s largest tournament series and thus US$ 10 million.

He represented England four times in the World Cup and was a member of the Seve Trophy winning teams Great Britain & Ireland in 2003 and 2007. The 2008 Ryder Cup saw Rose make his European debut. He celebrated the greatest success of his career by winning the U.S.

Open 2013. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, where a golf competition was held for the first time after a 112-year break, he managed the first hole in one in the history of the games on the first day of the game on the fourth hole (par 3). Ultimately, he became the first Briton to win the gold medal.
