Filippo Celli, statements

These are the words of the Roman golfer reported by the website of the Italian Golf Federation: “I feel really happy and I am happy to have shared these moments with Alberto, who had also followed Manassero in 2009 and who helped me a lot during the week with his remarkable experience.

This morning it seemed incredible to me to have the opportunity to add my name to that of many great champions who have won the Silver Medal. I didn’t get excited, but I just told myself to go out on the pitch calmly and see what would happen.

Now the Silver Medal is a reality and I hope it is only the beginning to reach other important goals. And for this I thank the Italian Golf Federation for the precious support I have always received” Francesco Molinari (Turin, 8 November 1982) is an Italian golfer.

He is the younger brother of Edoardo Molinari. On 22 July 2018 he entered the history of Italian golf by becoming the first Italian to have won a major tournament with the conquest of the 147th British Open.
