Newcastle United could launch a move for Benjamin Sesko after an exciting transfer claim emerged this week…

What’s the word?

It’s thought that the Magpies are monitoring the 19-year-old striker’s situation at RB Salzburg, where he has emerged as one of Europe’s top young talents.

“Understand Newcastle admire Salzburg forward Benjamin Sesko & 19-year-old is on list of names they’re exploring, but it has not moved beyond that at this stage,” tweeted Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope.

Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Serie A champions AC Milan have also been mooted with interest in recent weeks.

The next Erling Haaland

It’s no secret that the northeast outfit are in the market for a new striker, as revealed by Fabrizio Romano, and it would be an exciting move if they could secure the Slovenian international.

Given his upbringing at Austrian giants RB Salzburg, Sesko has already earned plenty of comparisons to Erling Haaland, even more so as he stands at a similar 6 foot 4 in stature.

Should Newcastle sign Benjamin Sesko?

YES!

YES!

NO!

NO!

The Salzburg gem only started 15 games last term but that didn’t stop him from providing ten goals and seven assists across 36 appearances on their way to the league title.

“My teammates at the club tell me that Haaland and I are very similar, especially in terms of speed. Most of them even tell me that I’m better than him!” the striker once told reporters in his home country (via GOAL).

Measuring speeds akin to Kylian Mbappe (around 36.1km/h), it’s clear that Sesko has a unique skill set and ultimately, it’s one that could thrive in the Premier League as his combination of rapid pace and towering strength will be enough to tear defences apart.

Also lauded as “the new Erling Haaland” and a “killer in the making,” by scout Jacek Kulig, interest in the Slovenian is sure to leave the Magpies faithful buzzing about the prospect of signing him.

Sesko may not be proven outside of Austria but it’s clear that he has massive potential and that should excite everyone concerned with Newcastle. Dan Ashworth and co should certainly follow up their admiration with a formal offer before the September 1st deadline.
