In 2011, he took six top-10 places and finished as number 9 in the ranking, qualifying him for the European Tour School Finals.
In January 2012, he won the Joburg Open, after which he received the right to play on the European Tour for two years. He started 2012 with a 14th place finish at the 2012 Africa Open, and a week later he won the Joburg Open and led the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit.
The following week he won the Volvo Golf Champions, also played in South Africa. Three months later, he won the play-off in China against Ernie Els and Retief Goosen. He was number 4 in the Race To Dubai in July and number 52 in the world rankings.
