Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios hit back at Stefanos Tsitsipas after the Greek called him an “evil bully.” Kyrgios and Tsitsipas clashed in the Wimbledon third round and the tension was felt throughout the entire match.

In the end, Kyrgios was the one that ended on the winning side as he recovered from a set down to beat Tsitsipas 6-7 (2) 6-4 6-3 7-6 (7). After the match, Tsitsipas described Kyrgios as a bully. “It’s constant bullying,” Tsitsipas said of Kyrgios’ behavior.

“He was probably a bully at school. I don’t like bullies. He has a very evil side to him.” When asked about Tsitsipas’ comments, Kyrgios said he didn’t feel he was doing anything disrespectful toward Tsitsipas.

“I’m not sure how I bullied him. He was the one hitting balls at me, hitting a spectator. I didn’t do anything. Apart from me going back and forth with the umpire a bit. I didn’t do anything towards Stefanos today that was disrespectful, I don’t think”.

Kyrgios: Tsitsipas is not likable and he is soft

“I don’t know what he’s talking about. The circus was all him. He’s got some serious issues.I just think [Tsitsipas] is making that match about me, like he’s got some serious issues.

I’m good in the locker room. I’ve got many friends, just to let you know. I’m actually one of the most liked. I’m set. He’s not liked,” Kyrgios said of Tsitsipas. Kyrgios didn’t end there, describing Tsitsipas as “soft” for complaining in such a way after the match.

“He’s that soft, to come in here and say I bullied him. That’s just soft. If he was affected by that today, then that’s what’s holding him back,” Kyrgios added. Meanwhile, Kyrgios has been through to the Wimbledon last-16, where he plays next Brandon Nakashima. Kyrgios is having a good Wimbledon and he is definitely determined to win it all this fortnight.
