Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are making this an entertaining start to the summer transfer window as all three London rivals fight for high-profile deals.

Gabriel Jesus will undergo his medical at Arsenal today, with the Gunners also raising their bid for Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez and staying in pursuit of Leeds winger Raphinha having already signed Fabio Vieira and Matt Turner.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have opened talks with Raheem Sterling as they chase Todd Boehly’s first marquee signing and are also attempting to re-sign his Manchester City team-mate Nathan Ake, with Matthijs de Ligt and Ousmane Dembele also firmly on Thomas Tuchel’s radar.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is said to have had dinner with Everton counterpart Bill Kenwright as Spurs attempt to wrap up an ambitious double deal for Richarlison and Anthony Gordon, with Barcelona’s Clement Lenglet also targered by Antonio Conte. West Ham are hoping to sign both Jesse Lingard and Arnaut Danjuma. Follow all the latest transfer updates throughout the day below.

Levy holds Kenwright talks amid Richarlison interest

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has been spotted holding talks with Everton counterpart Bill Kenwright amid Spurs’ interest in Toffees forward Richarlison, writes Malik Ouzia.

Standard Sport understands Spurs are keen to sign the Brazilian, who looks increasingly likely to leave Goodison Park this summer, despite Everton avoiding relegation from the Premier League at the end of last term.

On Tuesday morning, former BBC journalist Jon Sopel revealed he had seen the two club chairmen dining together at a restaurant in Mayfair on Monday night.

Sopel tweeted: “If Richarlison does come to @SpursOfficial suspect history will show agreement was reached last night. Bill Kenwright and Daniel Levy were having dinner together in Scott’s – and I was at table next to them…”

Everton want more than £50m for Richarlison but must recoup funds from player sales before spending themselves and could be forced to lower their asking price. They are also one of a number of clubs interested in Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks, who could be used as a makeweight in the deal.

Reports suggest Spurs could yet face competition from Chelsea, who need to revamp their forward line after agreeing to loan Romelu Lukaku back to Inter Milan, though Raheem Sterling is currently their No1 attacking target.

Tottenham have also been linked with Richarlison’s Everton team-mate Anthony Gordon.

Jesus set for Arsenal medical today

The high-profile deal to take Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal is almost complete.

The Gunners have agreed a £45m fee for the Manchester City striker, who has penned a contract at the Emirates until 2027.

All that is left is for Jesus to undergo the relevant medical tests, which will happen this morning with the player having already arrived in north London.

Official confirmation from Arsenal shouldn’t be far away now.

Arsenal increase Martinez offer

Arsenal have submitted a new bid for Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez.

The Gunners are locked in a battle with Manchester United over the Argentine centre-back, who shone in the Eredivisie under Erik ten Hag last term.

Arsenal were last week said to have failed with an initial offer for Martinez worth around €25m (£21.5m).

However, their interest remains strong and now Dutch publication De Telegraaf suggest they have tabled a second bid in the region of €40m (£34.4m).

Ajax are believed to value Martinez somewhere around £45m-£50m.

Richarlison and Gordon to Tottenham latest

Tottenham look to face a battle to land Anthony Gordon and Richarlison in a double deal.

Spurs were known to be targeting the latter as part of their summer revamp under Antonio Conte, but reports emerged yesterday claiming they were actually looking to strike a double deal with Everton that also includes 21-year-old English winger Gordon.

However, prising Gordon away from Goodison Park looks a very difficult task indeed.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are not aware of the interest in Gordon from Tottenham and have no interest in selling a highly-rated young asset who has broken into the first team and is under contract until 2025.

However, the Toffees appear to reluctantly accept that they could lose Richarlison in this window if their demands are met.

Chelsea want Sterling AND Ake from Man City

Raheem Sterling is not the only Manchester City player being actively pursued by Chelsea this summer.

Thomas Tuchel has his eye on new additions at both ends of the pitch, with new centre-backs a priority following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Chelsea have now opened talks over Sterling and are also trying to re-sign his versatile City team-mate Nathan Ake.

The Dutch defender previously spent six years at Stamford Bridge after leaving Feyenoord as a youngster in 2011, eventually being sold to Bournemouth before being snapped up by City in a £41m deal in 2020.

ICYMI – Everton star Andros Townsend reacts to Richarlison’s Tottenham links

Andros Townsend has suggested a move to Tottenham would not be a “step up” for Everton striker Richarlison.

The 25-year-old is one of Spurs’ key targets this summer as Antonio Conte looks to bring another forward to a frontline already boasting Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevksi.

Only the Premier League’s top three scored more than Conte’s side last season and the idea of the club moving to bolster an area of strength will undoubtedly be exciting for supporters, with Conte seemingly cashing in on the assurances granted to him by Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici.

That kind of ambition represents something of a shift in the club’s transfer policy during a summer in which Spurs have already signed three players, two of whom can be considered major first-team upgrades.

ICYMI – Chelsea confident of landing Raheem Sterling

Chelsea have made contact with Manchester City over a deal for England winger Raheem Sterling, writes Simon Collings.

Both clubs share confidence that a deal can be done and a formal bid is expected from Chelsea in the near future.
