Real Madrid congratulate Rafael Nadal on record 14th French Open title

Rafael Nadal recently celebrated Real Madrid’s Champions League victory and now his beloved club is celebrating his French Open victory. During the Madrid Masters, Nadal celebrated Real Madrid securing the Spanish league title.

Just over a week ago, Nadal was at Parc des Princes in Paris witnessing Real Madrid’s victory in the Champions League final versus Liverpool. This past Sunday, Nadal defeated Casper Ruud in the French Open final to win a record 14th title at Roland Garros.

Real Madrid sent out a tweet congratulating one of the their biggest fans. “Congratulations on this historic feat, Rafael Nadal. It’s an honour being able to enjoy a great madridista and honorary club member as the best tennis player of all-time.

Congratulations on your 22nd Grand Slam, your 14th Roland Garros title, without doubt a magic number in 2022,” the club’s tweet read.

Nadal now has a record 22 Grand Slams

Earlier this year in Australia, Nadal won his 21st Grand Slam title.

This past fortnight, Nadal celebrated his 14th French Open victory and lifted a record 22nd Grand Slam title. Last year, Nadal was beaten by Novak Djokovic in the French Open semifinal. Nadal returned to Roland Garros this year and made it all the way once again.

“For me having this trophy next to me again means everything. [It] has been [an] emotional victory, without a doubt. Unexpected in some ways. [I am] very happy,” Nadal said in his post-match press conference. “[It] has been a great two weeks.

I played from the beginning, improving every day. Finishing [by] playing a good final. [I am] super happy and can’t thank everybody enough for the support since the first day that I arrived here. [It is] very emotional”.

Nadal will now take some time to rest and address his chronic foot pain. Nadal has confirmed that he would like to play Wimbledon.
