Conte pleased to put pressure on Arsenal in top four race

Tottenham Hotspur couldn’t be in a better position as they head into their final game of the season on Sunday, where they need just a point against already-relegated Norwich City to secure a top four finish and UEFA Champions League football next season, ahead of arch rivals Arsenal.

But in what could be a big blow to them this summer, Bayern Munich have been urged to sign Harry Kane as Robert Lewandowski’s replacement at the end of the season, although the Lilywhites have already made an offer for a backup striker for the England international.

Here are Mirror Football’s latest stories on Tottenham.

Bayern ‘urged’ to sign Kane

Tottenham face a fresh challenge in keeping star striker Harry Kane at the club as Bayern Munich go in search of a replacement for Robert Lewandowksi and Julian Nagelsmann’s outfit have been urged to pursue a deal for the “complete” Spurs forward this summer.

Lewandowski’s 344 goals in 375 appearances can be equalled with Kane’s impressive record of 247 goals in 385 appearances for the north London club, and former Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has told Sky Sports Germany that Die Roten should target Kane if Lewandowski leaves this summer.

As reported by the Express, he said: “Personally, I would try to get Harry Kane [for] Bayern right away. This is my opinion. For me, this is a complete striker who scores goals every day at Tottenham, in a very good but not world-class team. If he plays in a team like Bayern, then I think he’s a great replacement at a very good footballing age. That’s up to Bayern Munich.”

Spurs ‘make offer’ for Ligue 1 star

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made an offer to sign in-form Rennes forward Martin Terrier in this summer’s transfer window, with Antonio Conte’s side keen on signing the 25-year-old forward at the end of the season.

With 21 goals in Ligue 1 this season, he is the division’s third top scorer this campaign behind only Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe (25) and Monaco striker Wissam Ben Yedder (24). Earlier this month, former Arsenal and Barcelona star Thierry Henry called for Terrier to win a first call-up to the French national side.

As reports Foot Mercato, it is claimed that Tottenham ‘really like’ Terrier and that an offer from the north London club has already been made to bolster a front line that boasts the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son. It adds that it ‘remains to be seen’ how Rennes will respond to the interest.

Laura Woods labelled ‘bias’ by Spurs fan

A Tottenham fan aimed a dig at Laura Woods on talkSPORT after claiming she was biassed towards Arsenal amid an intense race for the Champions League places, with the Gunners all but set to miss out on a top four finish this season.

A caller to talkSPORT, Nick, claimed that Arsenal’s failure to earn a place in the top four was the ‘biggest collapse of all time’ and that she was biassed towards the north London side – a claim that Gunners’ supporter Woods certainly did not agree with.

While Woods was certainly not enamoured with Nick’s claim, she was then left even more aghast as he suggested that Arsenal had a ‘small club’ mentality in not believing that they would be in a position to challenge for the Champions League places at the start of the campaign
