Christian Eriksen is a miracle. Last summer, during the first match of the Danish selection at the Euro, the former midfielder of Inter collapsed, victim of a heart attack. First worried for his life, then for his career, the Dane found the physical and mental strength to return to the top level by signing for Brentford this winter. Back on the Premier League pitches, being quite good, after a first stint of 7 years at Tottenham, it is almost logical that the Dane was called up by his selection for the friendly matches against the Netherlands and the Serbia. Interviewed by Sky SportsEriksen was then delighted with this return: “I am very happy, very happy to be back in the national team. It had been a while. I am really very happy.”

The attacking midfielder is aware of the chance he has of being able to play football again, but he assures that the risk is calculated: “I ended up trusting the doctors and obviously I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t know I was able to come back without bad things happening to me. So I was lucky with the doctors, I was lucky with the diagnosis. Everything was in order to return to play again. This of course pushed me to resume my life as it was before. By specifying the importance of his family in this process: “It was difficult for everyone, I think we as a family had a lot of conversations to go through and talk about everything that happened. But since then time has really improved the healing and it’s all good, so obviously when it’s all good and time comes with it, it’s a really good mix.”
