OlisehSuper Eagles’ Coach, Sunday Oliseh, will not join the home-based national team when they reconvene on Monday to begin preparations for next year’s African Nations Championship billed to hold in Rwanda, reports africanfootball.com.

The reports says Oliseh is still recovering from a virus infection and will only join the team in South Africa where they are expected to have their final preparation for the competition.

The 26 players listed by Oliseh for a training camp in Abuja will resume training in Abuja on Monday ahead of the CHAN in Rwanda in January.

A Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) official said Oliseh would only join the Eagles in South Africa when they set up training camp there later this month by which time he would have fully recovered.
“Oliseh will not come to Nigeria as he is still recovering from illness in Belgium. He will now join the Eagles in South Africa when they begin training camp there,” official said.

Oliseh himself has admitted he has not fully recovered from a virus infection, which has seen him lose weight dramatically.

The illness forced him to miss the CHAN Eagles second leg qualifier in Burkina Faso.
The Super Eagles B are drawn into Group C of the competition alongside Niger Republic, Tunisia and Guinea, with matches to be played at the Stade Regional Nyamirambo in Kigali.
Nigeria won the bronze medal at the last African Nations Championship held in South Africa in early 2014.
