Indigo O2 Concert was for Ghana, not just for me – Medikal

0

Anita Akufo recently hosted Medikal on TV3, where she asked him about his experiences and achievements over the past year.

Medikal opened up about one of his biggest milestones—the historic O2 concert, where he became the first Ghanaian to headline a show at the prestigious venue.

“Yes, I relive every moment,” Medikal shared, reflecting on the experience. He emphasized that the concert was not only for him but for all of Ghana and its music industry.

“It was a bold statement, not just for me but for all Ghanaians, especially hip-hop artists. I was very young listening to big names, and today, I’m doing big things, inspiring the youth to follow the same path,” he added.

Medikal also touched on how the success of the O2 concert impacted both his personal growth and career.

“I felt accomplished, and career-wise, it gave me the chance to connect with fans abroad, especially in places like America and parts of Europe. London was different, and it made me realize that we need to take our music internationally because people love it,” he explained.

Looking ahead, Medikal teased plans for bigger things but remained vague on specifics.

“There are plans, not just for the O2, but to take the music across borders, internationally. I’m definitely plotting and planning,” he said.

When asked if he would repeat the success at the O2 in 2025, Medikal confirmed there were plans but avoided committing to a specific timeline, hinting at more international shows.

“I’m not saying next year, but I have big plans,” he shared.

You’ve been erased from Asomdwe Park, you are now a nonentity

Dr Cadman Mills, the brother of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, has mocked Samuel Koku Anyidoho, a former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), over a comment aimed at preventing media houses from publishing news about him.

In a post made by the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Atta Mills Institute, Anyidoho called on media houses to allow him to enjoy his peace as a citizen, adding that he has no comments to make about anything.

“I’m a very content and quiet citizen so media houses should allow me to enjoy my peace. I have no comments to make so please leave me alone to enjoy my peace 🙏,” Koku Anyidoho wrote on X, formerly (Twitter).

Reacting to the post, Dr Cadman Mills stated that Koku Anyidoho has been erased from Asomdwe Park and claimed that he is currently not someone media houses will be interested in.

Dr Cadman responded to the post that, “Your name has been erased from Asomdwee Park. You are now a nonentity. Contact NAPO. Maybe you can be his chauffeur, if you are willing to dress better. NUT CASE! YOU WILL ACCOUNT!”

Background

On Wednesday, January 8, 2024, Koku Anyidoho took to social media to express his frustration over the vandalism of the statue of the late former President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills at the former president’s resting place, Asomdwee Park.

Visuals of the incident showed the plaque of the statue, which named Koku Anyidoho as the person who assisted with its unveiling, removed.

The writings on the plaque, before it was destroyed, showed details of the late former president and the inscription, “Assisted by Samuel Koku Anyidoho.”

Although the plaque of the statue could be seen broken into pieces, the sculpture of the late Prof. Mills was intact and still standing.

Koku Anyidoho, in the post he shared on X on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, took solace in God over the destruction of the plaque.

“This just happened @ Asomdwee Park. My Bible tells me that ‘In All Things’ (not in some things), I should give thanks to God. I am also singing… ‘It is well with my soul’. To God be all the glory, and my prayer is for God to continue blessing my beloved Homeland Ghana,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the plaque on the statue of the late former President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, which was destroyed, has been repaired.

They underrate us at their own peril – Vision FC coach warns Asante Kotoko

Nana Kweku Agyemang, head coach for Vision FC Nana Kweku Agyemang, head coach for Vision FC

Head coach of newly promoted Ghana Premier League side Vision FC, Nana Kweku Agyemang, has issued a warning to Asante Kotoko, asserting that his team is prepared to match whatever Kotoko bring to the table when the two sides meet on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in the matchday 17 fixtures of the GPL at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Asante Kotoko are currently on a five-game unbeaten streak, having won four of their last five matches. They sit sixth on the league table after 16 games. Vision FC, on the other hand, are 11th with 19 points.

Despite the contrasting standings, Agyemang remains confident in his team’s chances against the record GPL champions.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Agyemang emphasized that Vision FC has the technical ability and tactical discipline to compete with Kotoko. He cautioned Asante Kotoko against underestimating his side.

“In terms of technique and tactics, I think Vision FC can be on par with Kotoko. We have very skilled technical players who understand tactics and instructions.

“They are adept at both attacking and defensive transitions. I don’t think Kotoko can underrate us. If they do, it will be at their own peril,” he said.

A win for Vision FC could send them to 8th on the league table whereas a win for Asante Kotoko could send them top of the standings.
