Crepe Material Short Gown Styles Perfect for Chubby Ladies

0

When it comes to finding the perfect balance between comfort and style, crepe material short gowns stand out as a fantastic option—especially for chubby ladies who want to feel confident, elegant, and effortlessly fashionable. Crepe fabric is known for its soft texture, slight stretch, and graceful drape, making it ideal for flattering curvier body types.

One of the most flattering styles is the A-line short gown. This classic silhouette flares gently from the waist, helping to create a balanced, feminine figure. A-line gowns made from crepe fabric don’t cling to the body, making them both comfortable and stylish. You can enhance the look with subtle details like ruffled hems, pleats, or a decorative waist belt.

For a chic yet modest outfit, consider an off-shoulder crepe gown. This style highlights the collarbones and shoulders, drawing attention upward and creating an elongating effect. The softness of crepe complements the relaxed cut, offering a comfortable option perfect for special events. Pair with bold earrings and stylish heels to complete the look.

Ruched short gowns are another excellent choice. Ruched designs gather fabric at the waist or sides, helping to define the waistline while adding texture. This creates a slimming effect that enhances your curves beautifully. These gowns are versatile enough for both casual outings and evening occasions.

To add a touch of drama, go for a crepe short gown with flared or bell sleeves. These sleeves bring movement and elegance, especially when paired with a fitted bodice to maintain balance. This combination ensures comfort without sacrificing sophistication.

Pleated gowns in crepe are also a great pick. Pleats offer a structured look that skims over the body without clinging, providing ease of movement and style. Strategic pleating can even create the illusion of a more defined silhouette.

Finally, a V-neckline is universally flattering. It elongates the neck and draws attention upward, which can visually slim the figure. When combined with the natural flow of crepe, this neckline becomes a go-to choice for both daywear and formal events.

Kofi Akpaloo

Founder and leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo, has issued a heartfelt apology to Ghanaians and the bereaved families of the eight victims of the August 6, 2025, military helicopter crash in the Adansi Akrofuom District.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s after facing public criticism over his earlier remarks, Mr. Akpaloo admitted his comments were ill-timed and hurtful, explaining they were made in a moment of deep emotional distress.

“I am not happy at all, and I feel terrible that my comments caused pain to many people and families. I am sincerely sorry and ask for their forgiveness,” he said.

He revealed that the tragedy struck him personally, as one of the victims, Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, was a close associate.

“My brother Omane Boamah is not someone I can betray. I was devastated when I heard of his passing. My reaction came from the pain of knowing that people are dying almost every day in this country, and we seem to have normalised it.

“We have lost many through road accidents, and yet we don’t value lives enough. That frustration and sorrow are what came out in my words,” Mr. Akpaloo clarified.

The crash claimed the lives of Dr. Boamah and seven others, including Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.

Also among the deceased were Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Muniru Mohammed, former parliamentary candidate Samuel Aboagye, NDC Vice Chairman Samuel Sarpong, and three Air Force personnel: Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

The Z-9 helicopter was en route to Obuasi when it lost radar contact, prompting a swift military search. Investigations are ongoing following the recovery of the aircraft’s black box.

The remains of the victims have been transported to South Africa for forensic DNA analysis.

Ghana’s Fiscal Progress Undercut by Public Sector Leaks, Warns Report

0

Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson

Ghana’s hard-won economic stability faces erosion from persistent governance gaps and project mismanagement, according to a new EM Advisory assessment.

While applauding President John Mahama’s early fiscal strides including a 1.1% GDP primary surplus, expenditure cuts 14.3% below budget, and slowing inflation the report stresses that these gains remain fragile.

Chronic inefficiencies threaten to unravel progress, notably a “disturbing pattern” of abandoned projects wasting billions. EM Advisory highlights how political transitions in Ghana’s multiparty system often strand infrastructure mid-construction. “Unattended projects drain national resources,” the analysis states, urging a nonpartisan framework to ensure continuity.

The consultancy flags alarming fiscal leaks: a GHC1.3 billion wage overrun in six months, 14,000 unverified payroll workers, and contractors securing loans without delivering work. Worse still, of the GHC67 billion arrears inherited from 2024, audits show GHC3.6 billion lacked documentation entirely, with another GHC27.3 billion still unvalidated.

“Stabilisation is not transformation,” cautions the report, noting temporary currency relief won’t shield Ghana when debt repayments peak. Without urgent reforms to boost accountability and project execution, the nation risks sliding back into boom-bust cycles. As one Accra economist put it: “Macro discipline means little if the state machinery can’t deliver basics efficiently.” The question lingers—can Ghana fix its engine before the clock runs out?

Her impact extended beyond the runway through a powerful initiative producing reusable menstrual products for girls — a nod to the social impact ethos at the heart of the festival.

Other standout moments included the Elevate Talent Program, led by Renato Saeroon, spotlighting fresh voices like 12-year-old prodigy Jayce, and thought-provoking events like the “Africa Living Room Sessions,” the film screening of Nawi, and the moving “Female Icons” exhibition.

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has called for national unity and rejected any attempt to politicise the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight public officials on Wednesday, 6 August 2025, at Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region.

Speaking after laying a wreath at the Ceremonial Gardens at Jubilee House on Friday, Dr Bawumia described the incident as a “national tragedy” that had plunged the country into mourning. He stressed that the loss affected every Ghanaian, regardless of political affiliation.

“Well, I think the grief comes to all Ghanaians. This is not just me or the NDC, it is all of us. This is a national tragedy. Eight public officials on official duty… had this tragic accident and they all lost their lives. This is not a partisan issue, it is a national tragedy. Regardless, you should expect full participation because it is our national duty to fully participate,” he said.

Dr Bawumia, who was accompanied by senior NPP figures including Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Akosua Manu, Hassan Tampuli and Mohammed Amin Adam, extended condolences to President John Dramani Mahama, the government, the Ghana Armed Forces and the bereaved families.

He revealed that he had visited three of the victims’ families earlier in the day and would continue his visits on Saturday. “Ghana is in mourning… this is personal to all Ghanaians and I just want to extend my condolences,” he noted.

The three Ghana Air Force officers who also perished were Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flight Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

The officials were travelling to a national event linked to the launch of an alternative livelihood programme to combat illegal mining when the crash occurred.

The government has declared a three-day national mourning period, with a vigil and memorial service scheduled for Saturday, August 9. Samples of the victims’ remains have been flown to South Africa for DNA analysis to aid in their identification for burial.

Ghana Backs Women Exporters with US$15 Million Boost

Economic Exporters Forum

Ghana is investing $15 million to elevate women-led businesses within its non-traditional export sector, marking a strategic shift toward inclusive trade growth.

The Federation of Associations of Ghanaian Exporters (FAGE) partnered with women-focused agribusiness group Guzakuza to launch “WISE Exports 2.0,” a four-year initiative targeting 300 female entrepreneurs.

The programme aims to generate $15 million in export sales and create over 1,500 jobs by 2029. It will focus on value chains like cassava, shea, cocoa, and fashion accessories—sectors where women face underrepresentation despite high potential. “This is a transformational movement for inclusive wealth,” stressed FAGE’s Youth and Gender Coordinator, Emmanuel Ansah-Amprofi.

FAGE CEO Abdul-Karim Dubiure called the move a “bold turning point” for Ghana’s trade ambitions. The initiative merges FAGE’s policy expertise, Guzakuza’s grassroots training, and digital marketplace BuyAfricaMade to tackle key barriers: scarce export training, limited financing, and poor global market access.

Guzakuza founder Nana Adjoa Sefa emphasized urgency: “Women power Africa’s growth quietly. It’s time they get the systems to go global.” With $3 million needed for initial rollout, the project seeks co-funding from investors and development agencies. It aligns closely with UN goals on gender equality and sustainable growth.

I don’t think love is for me in this lifetime

Tiwa Savage is a Nigerian musician Tiwa Savage is a Nigerian musician

True love may be the theme of many of her songs, but for Tiwa Savage, it is a feeling that she is yet to encounter.

In an interview with British-Nigerian media personality ZeZe Mills, Tiwa spoke about her past romantic experiences and how they have shaped her view of love.

According to the musician, despite her fame and success, she has never truly felt loved in a romantic relationship.

Looking back on her marriage to Tunji Balogun, also known as Teebillz, which lasted from 2013 to 2018, Tiwa said she once believed what she had was love, but now sees things differently.

Tiwa Savage, who is a mother to 10-year-old Jamil, said the only pure and genuine love she has ever known is the one she shares with her son.

According to her, this love is real and unconditional, unlike what she has experienced in her romantic life.

“I don’t think I’ve been loved for a very long time. I don’t think I’ve experienced true love apart from my son. Every time I look back at my relationship, I realise that it wasn’t love it was just infatuation. At the time, I thought it was love though, but it wasn’t,” she said.

After years of trying to find a partner who truly understands and loves her, the singer said she has now come to terms with the possibility that love might not be in her destiny.

“I don’t think I’ve experienced that soulmate thing, I’ve tried over and over again. I don’t think love is for me in this lifetime,” she added.

Historic challenge for Paris Saint-Germain

Luis Enrique has accustomed PSG fans to big wins and all sorts of records. The upcoming match against Spurs is another opportunity to rewrite history by making Paris Saint-Germain the first French club to win the UEFA Super Cup.

Premier League bans LGBTQ+ laces and armbands ahead of 2025/26 season

Last season, the Red-and-Blues won a quadruple, displaying total superiority over their opponents in all key matches. No wonder Luis Enrique’s team was considered a clear favorite to win the Club World Cup in the USA.

The Parisians lived up to expectations, beating Atlético Madrid, Inter Miami and Bayern Munich in the tournament. PSG’s star moment came in the semi-finals when they destroyed Real Madrid 4-0, becoming Xabi Alonso’s nightmare.

It seemed that Ousmane Dembélé and his teammates were unstoppable, but in the final game, the French giants faltered, losing 0-3 to Chelsea.

PSG’s American trip has once again confirmed the need to strengthen the center-back position.

The selection process continues, and the Parisians’ management are actively working on the transfer of Illya Zabarnyi, the leader of Bournemouth’s defense. However, if Marquinhos or Willian Pacho miss the Super Cup match, the Red-and-Blues will have big problems.

Tottenham’s new era

Last season, Spurs won their first trophy in 17 years, but even that historic achievement didn’t save Ange Postecoglou from being sacked. Daniel Levy refused to accept failure in the Premier League and once again changed the head coach.

He entrusted the team to Thomas Frank, who had excelled at Brentford.

The Danish coach decided to go beyond cosmetic renovations and immediately started breaking down the walls at his new club.

Tottenham signed two new center-backs, won the battle for Mohammed Kudus, strengthened the midfield with João Palhinha, and bought out the contracts of Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel.

However, the biggest sensation was the departure of long-time leader and team captain Son Heung-min, who will go to conquer MLS.

Thomas Frank wants to instill in Tottenham a strong and athletic style of football with high defensive organization. The pre-season results show that the players have quickly learnt the new coach’s ideas: Spurs haven’t lost a single friendly game.

The London club approaches the match against Paris Saint-Germain in excellent form and good spirits. Tottenham have never won the UEFA Super Cup before, and now is the right time to rewrite history.

Thomas Partey Joins Spanish Side Villareal, Fans Protest

Thomas Partey

Villarreal have completed the signing of Thomas Partey following his exit from Arsenal and being charged with rape.

Following negotiations with Villarreal, the 32-year-old has joined the Spanish side on a one-year deal with the option of an extra 12 months. The Ghana international will join the Yellow Submarine on a free transfer following the expiration of his Arsenal contract.

This comes days after Partey appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court and was granted conditional bail after being charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault on July 4. The ex-Atletico Madrid man, who has to inform police of any international travel he makes 24 hours in advance, denies the charges.

The signing comes amidst protests by hundreds of Villarreal supporters had voiced their opposition to the imminent signing of Thomas Partey by signing a petition to stop the transfer.

A petition, titled ‘Say NO to Thomas Partey at Villarreal,’ had been started online and has over 800 signatures at the time of writing.

The description reads: ‘recently, reports have surfaced that Villarreal CF are close to signing the footballer Thomas Partey, a player who is currently facing criminal charges on five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

‘A player accused and charged of such heinous crimes must not have any relation to a club like Villarreal, which prides itself on values such as family spirit and community.

Cesar Pena, president of the Villarreal supporters’ club in Villafranca de Barros, Extremadura, believes the Spanish outfit should not be trying to recruit a player accused of “such serious crimes.”

Partey’s new side – who beat Arsenal 3-2 in a friendly on Wednesday – round off their pre-season schedule against Aston Villa on Sunday, before beginning their La Liga campaign on August 15 at home to Oviedo.

Elegant Kente Outfit Styles for Modern Ladies

0

Kente, the iconic Ghanaian fabric, is a true symbol of royalty, elegance, and cultural pride. Known for its vibrant colors, rich patterns, and deep cultural meanings, Kente has transcended traditional use to become a global fashion statement. Today, elegant ladies are embracing Kente in modern styles that blend tradition with sophistication.

One of the most popular Kente outfit styles is the Kente gown. These gowns are often fitted, floor-length, and come with dramatic sleeves or stylish necklines. From off-shoulder cuts to one-hand styles and corseted designs, these gowns are perfect for weddings, engagements, and formal events. The richness of the fabric elevates any design, making the wearer stand out effortlessly.

Kente skirts and tops are also trendy, especially for semi-formal occasions or cultural days at work. A peplum top paired with a high-waisted pencil or A-line Kente skirt creates a classy and feminine silhouette. Pair this with heels and simple jewelry for a polished look.

For those who love a modern twist, Kente jumpsuits and two-piece sets are a must-try. They offer a youthful and stylish vibe while still celebrating cultural roots. Whether it’s a tailored blazer and pants combo or a crop top and flared trousers set, these styles are perfect for cocktail events or fashion-forward outings.

Accessories play a huge role in finishing the Kente look. Gold or beaded jewelry, a matching clutch, and bold makeup complement the bright tones of the fabric beautifully.

Whether you’re attending a traditional ceremony or a high-profile event, Kente offers endless styling possibilities for the elegant woman. It’s more than just fabric it’s a celebration of identity, beauty, and strength. Every stylish lady should own a stunning Kente piece that speaks volumes without saying a word.

Afrobarometer, Pan-African Parliament Sign MoU To Promote Evidence- Based Policy Making

Boniface Dulani with Chief Fortune Charumbira

Afrobarometer (AB) and the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) have signed a three-year Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) that will pave the way for joint initiatives, deeper knowledge exchange, wider data dissemination, and stronger policy advocacy across the continent.

PAP President, Chief Fortune Charumbira and AB surveys director, Boniface Dulani, signed the agreement on the sidelines of the PAP’s 5th Ordinary Session of the Sixth Parliament in Midrand, South Africa.

The newly signed MOU establishes a cooperative framework that will facilitate the dissemination and utilisation of AB data by PAP committees and members; support evidence-based oversight of and legislative work on democracy, governance, and human rights; enable joint forums, policy dialogues, and capacity-building initiatives on governance and public opinion; and enhance citizen engagement and participatory governance in Africa.

“It is not every day that we have the privilege of welcoming into our institutional family an organisation that is, quite literally, taking the pulse of the continent. Today’s signing ceremony is the meeting of representation and research, of mandate and measurement, of citizen voice and institutional action,” said Chief Charumbira.

“By formalising this partnership between the Pan-African Parliament and Afrobarometer, we are setting a new standard that says, ‘We will not legislate in the dark, we will not oversee in silence, and we will not guess what our people think – we will know.’ As we chart the course of a revitalised Pan-African Parliament, we are guided by one clear compass: the voices, priorities, and aspirations of African citizens.”

“This MOU comes at a pivotal time in our institutional journey, when we are not only asserting our place within the African Union governance ecosystem, but reaffirming our commitment to accountability, legitimacy, and evidence-based policy making. Afrobarometer brings exactly what we need: data, analysis, and insight into the lived realities of Africans. These are the building blocks of good governance, and no serious legislature can afford to ignore them,” Chief Charumbira concluded.

“Afrobarometer seeks to project the voices of Africans to inform public policy across the continent,” Dulani added. “I believe that Afrobarometer and the Pan-African Parliament can work together synergistically, because the Pan-African Parliament is a house that seeks to represent the views of ordinary citizens on this continent through its honourable members.”

‘We’re mourning one, he’s mourning eight’ – Sister of fallen Squadron Leader stands with Mahama

The sister of Squadron Leader Peter Abaafeme Anala, one of the victims of the fatal helicopter crash, has expressed her solidarity with President John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking at the family residence when they received a government delegation on Friday, August 8, 2025, she stated that she understands the immense pressure resting on the shoulders of the President following the incident.

According to her, even though individual families are mourning their respective loved ones, the President alone bears the burden of mourning all eight victims, and for that reason, she commiserates with him.

“We want to thank you so much for being thoughtful. We understand the pressure that this has brought to President Mahama. Even as we are mourning as individuals with eight people, he is mourning the eight people in one. So, we understand the stress that he is going through, but if he has been thoughtful enough to send you both to us to come and commiserate with us, then we are grateful,” she expressed her gratitude.

The late Peter Abaafeme Anala’s sister, while eulogising her brother, spoke highly of him and offered prayers in his memory.

“We pray that the good Lord himself who has called them will grant them the faith and rest in peace in his presence. We know that nothing comes without his knowledge. And we know that he does everything for the purpose. And everything that the Lord does is good. We are grateful to him even in the midst of our pain.”

She added: “We still want to express our gratitude to God Almighty for giving us an illustrious son, an illustrious brother, and an illustrious husband such as Peter. We pray that the Lord himself directs our paths, that we will be able together to give a befitting rest to our brother especially and all the faithful in battle.”

A communication team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Wonder Madilo, has criticised the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) for using sacks to collect the remains of victims of Wednesday’s fatal helicopter crash.

Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on Friday, August 8, 2025, Madilo said the military, as a disciplined institution, should have arrived at the crash site with proper body bags, especially as several hours had passed before they reached the scene.

“I am disappointed with GAF for this particular tragedy for not going to the accident scene with body bags, that is very bad. The police have body bags, NADMO also has it, likewise them. They are a disciplined institution, so, I didn’t expect that from them,” he said.

Following the memorandum of Understanding signed between world soccer governing body, FIFA and the Niger Football Federation (FENIFOOT) with respect to the FIFA Football for Schools (F4S) recently in Rabat, a training workshop for young coaches has been launched in the Niger capital, Niamey.

The workshop scheduled for August 4-7, 2025, aims to equip participants on several aspects essential to implementing the program for the benefit of the young and prospective footballers.

During the four days, the young coaches (trainers) will be introduced to the organization of school festivals, the planning of tournaments in school, the development of pedagogical and sporting skills, and the integration of the methodology specific to the F4S program.

The training will alternate theoretical and practical sessions, marking an important step in the professionalization of school football coaching in Niger.

Top 5 football clubs with the most Ballon d’Or winners: A legacy of excellence

FENIFOOT President Issaka Adamou has described the initiative as a watershed moment for Niger football as both trainers and children will benefit to improve the development of the game at the grassroots level.

“The FIFA Football for Schools brings two major benefits to Niger. First, it provides children with the opportunity to pursue their dreams and passions, and to awaken them to the virtues of sport, and football in particular, with all the positive implications through its values (solidarity, tolerance, commitment to hard work, inclusion, etc.) and health promotion,” he said.

He continued, “Secondly, having more children learning the basics of football allows us to put into practice our grassroots football development strategy, focusing on the training of children and young people who could join our various youth teams, strengthen our clubs, and develop our football.

“FIFA has brought a team to train around 100 trainers, who will be deployed throughout Niger’s regions to implement this project. The aim is to introduce children to football in schools.”

On his part, Antonio Sanchez, Manager of FIFA Football for Schools said “Today we’re back with a FIFA team to continue everything we started a year ago. But the idea is really to go deeper, to work together with the various stakeholders, the Niger Football Federation, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Education, to work together for the benefit of children, to truly continue to provide opportunities for young girls and boys everywhere in Niger, and to continue training educators and instructors; this is fundamental for us at FIFA.”

Launched in 2019 in collaboration with UNESCO, FIFA Football for Schools aims to teach millions of children around the world life and academic skills through football and is rooted within the existing education system of each FIFA Member Association.

Guinea-Bissau president names new prime minister as election tensions rise

Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embalo Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embalo

President Umaro Sissoco Embalo of Guinea-Bissau has dismissed Prime Minister Rui Duarte de Barros, appointing Braima Camara, a former coordinator of the Madem G15 opposition party, as his replacement.

The reshuffle, announced Thursday via presidential decree, is widely viewed as part of Embalo’s strategy to consolidate power ahead of November’s general elections.

Embalo’s leadership has been at the center of political turmoil, with critics insisting his term legally ended on February 27. However, the nation’s Supreme Court ruled that his presidency should continue until September 4.

Defying the dispute, Embalo has set the elections for November 30, declaring that his first term will run until then, a decision that has fueled mounting opposition.

Guinea-Bissau, a nation scarred by repeated coups since independence from Portugal more than half a century ago, limits presidents to two five-year terms. Embalo’s move to extend his mandate has deepened tensions, with opposition leaders refusing to recognize his authority.

In March, a delegation from the West African regional bloc ECOWAS cut short its mediation mission after claiming it faced threats of expulsion from Embalo’s administration, underscoring the volatile political climate as the elections draw near.

According to Ato Ahwoi, a senior statesman, Dr. Boamah was a staunch supporter of the New Patriotic Party during his days at the University of Ghana, where he served as the President of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS).

Speaking to Metro TV on Friday, August 8, 2025, the senior statesman disclosed that he was tasked by Ghana’s late former President, John Evans Atta Mills, to recruit all past NUGS presidents to join the NDC campaign in the run-up to the 2008 elections.

Ato Ahwoi stated that the late Dr. Boamah did not like the NDC, as the strong NPP supporter he was at the time.

Despite his initial reservations about the NDC, Mr. Ahwoi said Dr. Boamah eventually ditched the NPP for the NDC, working his way through the ranks to become a valuable member of the party.

“I managed to convince Omane to join the NDC after I had been instructed by Prof. Mills to recruit all past NUGS presidents. He was then with the NPP and didn’t like the NDC, but became very close, like my son,” Mr. Ato Ahwoi said.

Buy new presidential jet – NPP man to President Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama is Ghana's president President John Dramani Mahama is Ghana’s president

A member of the NPP communication team in the Tano South Constituency, Abdula Jafaru, known as ‘King Jafa’, has urged President John Dramani Mahama to purchase a new presidential jet for the country as a matter of urgency.

Commenting on Bechem-based After2 Radio on the military helicopter crash that claimed eight lives in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 6.

The crash, which has plunged the nation into mourning, resulted in the deaths of high-profile officials, including the Minister for Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, and the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed.

Also on board were senior national security personnel and crew members of the Ghana Armed Forces.

Abdula Jafaru said, Ghana would have lost the president if not he decided to attend equally important program in Accra because it was possible the president would have used same helicopter to the event because Ghana’s presidential jet has been grounded at the Dassault Falcon Service facility in Le Bourget, France, for four months due to what has been described as massive wear and tear issues.

He said, the current state of the Dassault Falcon 900EX EASy jet include fuel tank contamination, the turbofan engine problems, and other vital components, sources, which engineers say put it at risk of engine failure during flight.

Government sources indicated that the jet was sent to the Dassault Falcon Service facility for the mandatory 24-month inspection, during which the massive extent of corrosion was detected.

Meanwhile, outstanding maintenance activities on the flight include further work on the feeder tanks, pending feedback from Dassault Aviation.

Additionally, he said, the president should order a probable check of all helicopters at the Ghana Armed Forces before use to prevent future occurrences.

Pleading with the president, he added that a fund should be considered for the immediate families of the deceased persons since most were the breadwinners of their families.

UEFA fines Lamine Yamal and Lewandowski for breaking doping rules

Yamal (L) and Lewandowski have been fined by UEFA Yamal (L) and Lewandowski have been fined by UEFA

Barcelona stars, Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal have been handed financial sanctions by UEFA after being found guilty of breaching anti-doping regulations during last season’s Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan.

According to Marca, the pair failed to comply with procedural rules after the dramatic 4-3 defeat at the San Siro.

UEFA’s disciplinary report states that both players ignored the specific instructions of the Anti-Doping Control Officer and did not proceed “directly to the Control Station without delay,” breaching Articles 21.8 and 21.10(a) of the competition’s regulations.

While the breach was procedural rather than substance-related — meaning no tainted samples were involved — both Lewandowski and Yamal have each been hit with a €5,000 fine.

Crucially, they will not face suspensions and will be available for Barcelona’s European campaign in the 2025/26 season.

The fallout from the fiery semi-final extended beyond the players. Manager Hansi Flick and assistant Marcus Sorg have also been sanctioned, albeit for entirely different reasons.

The German coaching duo were found guilty of breaching general principles of conduct (Art. 11(1) DR) and failing to uphold the “basic standards of decent conduct” (Art. 11.2(b) DR), reportedly linked to their strong criticism of the match officials.

Flick and Sorg have each been fined €20,000 and hit with a one-match touchline ban, meaning they will miss Barcelona’s opening Champions League fixture next season.

Barcelona as a club have also been punished, receiving a €5,250 fine for objects thrown from the stands during the Inter clash and an additional €2,500 penalty for the use of fireworks by supporters.

Fashionable And Stylish Casual Outfits For Chubby Ladies

0

When it comes to fashion, there are truly no limitations based on body type or size. Every woman—regardless of her shape—deserves to feel confident, beautiful, and stylish in her clothing. For curvy or plus-size women, dressing well is all about embracing your body and choosing pieces that flatter your natural silhouette.

A perfect fit is the foundation of a flattering outfit. Instead of hiding your curves, aim to highlight them with well-structured pieces. Dresses with defined waists, such as fit-and-flare or A-line cuts, can create a graceful hourglass shape. Adding a belt further emphasizes the waist, giving a polished and feminine look.

Layering is another fantastic way to add depth and elegance to your outfits. Light jackets, kimonos, or long cardigans not only offer comfort but also create flattering lines that enhance your shape. A long vest, for example, can elongate the torso and give the illusion of a leaner frame.

When selecting bottoms, high-waisted jeans or trousers are a smart choice. They help to smooth out the midsection and lengthen the legs. Pairing them with a tucked-in blouse or a cropped top helps maintain balance and proportion. Slim-cut pants like skinny jeans or cigarette trousers can also enhance your shape without adding bulk.

In terms of color, darker shades such as black, navy, and deep green are naturally slimming. However, don’t shy away from playful prints or bold accessories. Smaller patterns and vertical stripes can elongate your figure, while colorful tops or jewelry can add personality and charm.

Accessories make a big difference—whether it’s a stylish handbag, layered necklaces, or bold earrings. These finishing touches elevate your look and reflect your unique style with confidence.

“This is not a partisan issue, this is a national tragedy. You should expect full participation from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) because this is our national duty. We will fully participate,” he added.

The victims included Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Alhaji Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, NDC Vice Chairman Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, former parliamentary candidate Samuel Aboagye, and three military personnel.

Previously ranked 66th, the Queens now sit 67th globally but have maintained their sixth position on the African continent following a strong showing in Morocco last month.
