Silly Child with Butterfly Nose – Prince David Osei Trolled After Senseless Post Mocking Ghanaians for Rejecting NPP

0

NPP-aligned Ghanaian actor, Prince David Osei, has come under fire from social media users after sharing a post mocking Ghanaians over the current state of the economy.

Osei, after campaigning for the NPP relentlessly which did nothing in aiding the party retain power, has now decided it is time to mock Ghanaians for rejecting the failed policies of his government.

In a new post on X (formerly Twitter), David Osei asked Ghanaians if the change of government has led to the country becoming a land flowing with milk and honey yet.

“Ghana how far? Are you enjoying the Mahama administration,” he sarcastically queried. “I hear they are giving everyone milk and honey…24/7 electricity and market women making outrageous sales?”

His post angered netizens with many taking into the comments to tear him apart.

“Never seen someone like this guy who deliberately opens himself up for public disrespect.. smh,” one user wrote.

Another said: “Silly child with butterfly nose😂,”

Prince David Osei campaigned for the NPP in 2016 to win power and spent the next eight years defending every ill-conceived move the government made. Ahead of the 2024 elections, Ghanaians finally got fed up and every single post he made was bombarded with angry replies and attacks on his personality.

Nana Akomea and Kwesi Pratt

play video

There was an exchange between the Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., and a former Chief Executive Officer of the State Transport Corporation (STC), Nana Akomea, over the dismissal of public workers by President John Dramani Mahama.

This discussion took place on the February 23, 2025, episode of Peace FM’s Kokrokoo programme.

During the panel discussion on the topic, Kwesi Pratt condemned the dismissal of public workers by the president but, however, blamed the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for engaging in similar actions during their administration.

According to Kwesi Pratt, the NPP members including Nana Akomea should tone down their criticism since they also dismissed public workers employed by the previous government in its last days in office.

Akomea, who had already made his submission on the matter, challenged Kwesi Pratt for misrepresenting his views.

He argued that his stance aligned with Kwesi Pratt’s own, stating that regardless of the party in power, such acts should be condemned, even if they involved his party.

Akomea then demanded an apology from Kwesi Pratt for misrepresenting his views on the show. However, Kwesi Pratt refused, asserting that if they were both in agreement, there was no need for him to apologize.

Read the excerpts from their exchange below:

Kwesi Pratt: Why are we speaking as if this is the first time we are witnessing such incidents? Have we forgotten what J.H. Mensah said about dismissals, that those employed by the NDC would be sacked?

But the point is, if it happened under an NPP government, it does not mean it should also happen under an NDC government. Let us take a principled position on that.

Akomea: But that is exactly what we are saying.

Kwesi: No.

Akomea: That is what I am saying.

Kwesi: No, I didn’t hear you say that.

Akomea: Maybe you were not listening.

Kwesi: Your party (NPP) also did the same.

Akomea: Kwesi, then you didn’t listen to me.

Kwesi: Then if that is what you are saying, then no problem.

Akomea: Nana Yaw, is that what I said?

Kwesi: So, if we are on the same page, why are you angry?

Akomea: You didn’t listen to what I was saying, and you misquoted me.

Kwesi: You were challenging me to produce evidence.

Akomea: …But you haven’t been able to produce anything… and you also didn’t listen to what I was saying. You were just looking at your phone for information.

Kwesi: But if we are saying the same thing, then that is fine.

Akomea: You didn’t listen to me. So, apologize, and let’s move forward.

Kwesi: You people love apologies. Anything small, and you start asking for apologies. Apology for what?

Akomea: Apology for misquoting me.

Kwesi: I said the NPP did the same, and now the NDC is also doing it. If something is bad, it is bad. And now you are asking me to apologize? Apologize for what?

CLOGSAG to meet govt February 27

0

The government is set to hold a negotiation meeting with the leadership of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association (CLOGSAG) on Thursday, February 27, in a bid to resolve the ongoing strike.

The association is demanding the revocation of the appointment of the new Births and Deaths Registrar, Samuel Adom Botchway, citing his alleged partisan affiliation.

This was outlined in a letter from the Ministry of Labour, Jobs, and Unemployment, which urged CLOGSAG to call off the strike ahead of the planned meeting.

Speaking to Citi News, Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG, Isaac Bampoe Addo, stated that the association’s next line of action would depend on the outcome of the meeting.

“We have received some correspondence from the Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment. They are requesting us to come and have a meeting with them on Thursday, February 27. And they are also requesting if it is possible to suspend the strike but as we have always said, the strike action was called by the National Executive Council of CLOGSAG and they are the only body that can call it off.

“And then number two, this neutrality that you are preaching, our members have been dismissed for violating it and doing politics so it is only fair as a start for this discussion, we think Mr. Botchway should not be there.”

Pep Guardiola and wife select the same lawyer as their divorce proceedings begin

Pep Guardiola and his wife, Christina Pep Guardiola and his wife, Christina

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and his wife Christina have commenced legal proceedings to officially divorce after 30 years of marriage.

According to Lorena Vazquez, a well-respected Spanish showbiz reporter, the couple are using the same lawyer to ensure that the issue is settled peacefully.

The journalist also indicated that, because of their children, both Guardiola and his wife are determined to resolve the case in the most amicable way possible.

“The divorce is being prepared conscientiously, and they have left it in the hands of people they really trust. What surprises me the most is that both of them have the same lawyer, who is arranging the whole thing.

“They want it to be amicable for the sake of their children. As you can imagine, money is not going to be an issue, and they are now agreeing on the initial terms to make sure this separation is as cordial as possible,” she said.

Lorena Vazquez noted that the reason Guardiola continues to wear his wedding ring is unknown, but it may signify that he is open to continuing the marriage if possible.

“It’s surprising he’s still wearing his wedding ring, and I wouldn’t be able to tell you if it’s a symbol he wants to carry on wearing as a homage to his marriage or as an open door to reconciliation, because what we’re being told is that he would perhaps be more open to that than his wife,'” she added.

Reports indicate that Guardiola’s decision to extend his contract with Manchester City contributed to the separation.

The Spanish coach met Cristina Serra in 1994, when he was 23 and she was 20. They married in 2014, but it is reported they have been together since 1994.

The couple have three children: Maria, 24; Marius, 22; and Valentina, 17.

Guardiola, who has had a difficult start to the 2024/2025 season, will likely focus on his managerial career and aim to revive Manchester City’s performance.

Manager of roofing company arraigned over alleged fraud

0

The Manager of Joonak Roofing is before the Amasaman Circuit Court over alleged GH¢14,000.00 fraud.

Clement Acquah Jonah is said to have taken the money from Nana Offei under the pretext of supplying him with a quantity of roofing sheets which he has denied, according to prosecutors.

He was granted a GH¢50,000.00 bail with two sureties.

The Court ordered the sureties to produce their valid national identity cards to the Court’s Registry.

Acquah would make his next appearance on April 6, 2025 and the Court has ordered Prosecution to serve him with the necessary materials for Case Management Conference.

Police Chief Inspector Frederick Ansah-Awuah told the Court presided over by Ms Enid Marful-Sau that Nana Offei, the Complainant was an Accountant and resident of Sarpeiman whilst Acquah, the accused person, was a resident of Kasoa.

He said on October 16, 2024, the Complainant contracted accused person who claimed to be a manager of Joonak Roofing to roof his three buildings at Adjen Kotoku for him.

Prosecution said after negotiation, the accused person charged the complainant GH¢14,000.00 which was paid in full to the accused person.

Chief Inspector Awuah-Ansah said the accused person went to a sister Company to buy the roofing sheet with the quality of 3.0 instead of the 4.5 agreed on to roof two buildings, leaving one building with an excuse that his company had a problem.

The Court heard that all efforts made to get accused person to roof the remaining proved futile.

Since he failed to pick Complainant’s calls, the Complainant used a different phone line to contact him, tricking him to believe he was giving him another contract which he responded, leading to his arrest.

After necessary investigation, the accused person was charged with the offence.

His counsel, in praying for bail, said it was a contractual agreement, and his client was prepared to attend Court to prove his innocence.

His said the client was not known (first time offender), gainfully employed, adding that he had men and women of substantial means to stand as sureties.

Founder of the defunct UT Bank, Capt. (Rtd) Prince Kofi Amoabeng Founder of the defunct UT Bank, Capt. (Rtd) Prince Kofi Amoabeng

Founder of the defunct UT Bank, Capt. (Rtd) Prince Kofi Amoabeng, revealed in February last year that he had dismissed non-performing family members he had employed at the bank.

He disclosed this during an interview on the GTV Breakfast Show, which was monitored by GhanaWeb Business.

Read the full story originally published on February 24, 2023 by www.ghanaweb.com.

The founder of now-defunct UT Bank, Capt. (Rtd) Prince Kofi Amoabeng, has narrated how he was hated by some members of his family for sacking some relatives who were non-performing.

Speaking in an interview with Kafui Dey on GTV Breakfast Show on Thursday, which was monitored by GhanaWeb, Kofi Amoabeng said that he sacked his brother and cousin and other relations who were not doing their jobs well.

He added that because of his strictness and his decision to sack some of his family members from his bank, the elders of the family, including the family head, were always quarreling with him.

“…I sacked my brother, I sacked my cousins, I even asked my director to resign. And it is nothing personal at all, it is about the company. You are building and you must respect the company’s laws and policies.

“I had all sorts of calls and things (after sacking my relatives). The only way I could resolve it was to look after the children of the relatives I sacked.

“I had some enemies within my family. They said I was too hard; I wasn’t for them. One even said that the monies that God is giving to the family, God gave to me and I am too hard, so, I didn’t give the money to them,” he said.

He added that people are not sacked from work but they sack themselves because they do not adhere to the rules of the company they work at.

The story of how Accra Academy headmistress almost rejected Asamoah Gyan as a student

0

Legendary Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan Legendary Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan

Coach JE Sarpong, the Ghanaian coach credited with the discovery of legendary Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan, has opened up about the lengths he went to have him admitted to Accra Academy as a student.

JE Sarpong, on the Gajio Podcast, stated that the headmistress of Accra Academy at the time was opposed to recruiting a young Asamoah Gyan as a student and therefore rejected the request initially.

Aware of the enormous potential of Asamoah Gyan, Coach Sarpong, who was a tutor in charge of Physical Education (PE) at the school, says he made sacrifices including running errands for the headmistress and threatening to quit the school to have her approve the admission of Asamoah Gyan.

“I met Asamoah Gyan through his sister, who was a lover of sports. She told me about his potential and pleaded with me to recruit him because, at the time, Baffour Gyan was doing well at Adisadel College.

“When I told the headmistress about bringing in a new student who is also a footballer, she outrightly rejected it. I had to run errands for her so that Asamoah Gyan could be granted admission.

“We were preparing for the Milo tournament, and I needed someone of Asamoah Gyan’s qualities. I had watched him once, and that’s all I needed to know that he was a great player. The headmistress assumed that I had taken a bribe to recruit Asamoah Gyan, so she sent somebody to Gyan’s house to investigate.

“When the person informed me about it, I got livid. I confronted the headmistress and threatened to leave the school. For one month, I wasn’t going to school, and there were agitations in the school over my absence. She sent someone to come for me, and I turned her down.

“The headmistress eventually agreed for Asamoah Gyan to come and gave me an admission letter. I immediately informed Asamoah Gyan’s father and got the items for his admission,” he narrated.

JE Sarpong’s determination and sacrifice eventually paid off, as Asamoah Gyan went on to have a stellar career.

Gyan’s club career saw him have stints at Liberty Professionals, Udinese, Rennes, Sunderland, and Al Ain, among others.

The national team level is where Asamoah Gyan enjoyed great success. He became the greatest goal-scorer in the history of the Black Stars, as well as the African player with the most goals in the history of the FIFA World Cup – 6.
