2Baba ready to write different love story with Natasha —Source

0

It appears that love has taken a new course in the life of legendary singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, as he prepares to walk down the aisle with his new fiancée, Natasha Osawaru Igbinedion.

Despite the history and deep connection he once shared with his wife, actress Annie Idibia, the singer seems ready to embrace a new chapter, undeterred by the controversy surrounding his decision.

Per Second News gathered that 2Baba and Natasha are making serous plans to tie the knot this year despite 2face’s mother’s disapproval.

It was also scooped that Natasha and 2face recently visited her grandfather, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin Kingdom.

The visit, seen as a significant step towards marriage, has fueled speculation that wedding preparations are already in motion.

According to sources close to the couple, their families have given their blessings, and arrangements for the ceremony are progressing swiftly.

This development has sparked conversations among fans and critics alike, many of whom recall 2Baba’s high-profile wedding to Annie Idibia in 2013.

The Dubai destination wedding was a grand affair, one that was celebrated widely. Now, fans are left wondering whether the singer will opt for another extravagant ceremony or choose a more intimate path with Natasha.

While their love story remains relatively private, those close to the couple described their connection as deeply affectionate and filled with understanding.

Natasha, a woman of aristocratic lineage, is said to bring a refreshing calmness to 2Baba’s life, offering a level of emotional stability that he has long sought. The two reportedly share a strong bond, built on mutual respect and a desire to build a future together away from the public chaos of his past relationships.

For years, 2Baba’s love life has been a subject of public scrutiny, with his relationship with Annie enduring multiple storms, from alleged infidelities to personal battles that played out in the public eye. His decision to move on has, unsurprisingly, been met with a wave of mixed reactions. While some applaud him for seeking happiness on his own terms, others criticize him for seemingly abandoning the love story that once captivated fans.

Despite the backlash, 2Baba appears to be at peace with his decision. Sources revealed that he has chosen to focus on what makes him happy, prioritising his emotional well-being over public sentiment.

His relationship with Natasha is described as easy and unforced, with the couple frequently seen in each other’s company, radiating joy and companionship.

Natasha, known for her reserved yet graceful personality, has largely stayed away from media attention, unlike Annie, who shared much of her life with the public.

This contrast has led to speculation that 2Baba desires a more private and serene relationship, one that does not constantly find its way into the headlines. Their romance, though still fresh, is already being regarded as a new beginning for the singer, one where he can redefine love on his own terms.

With whispers of an upcoming wedding growing louder, all eyes are now on 2Baba and Natasha’s next move. The couple has yet to officially announce details of their nuptials, but insiders suggest that plans are already well underway.

A member of his team who spoke anonymously with Per Second News said the singer deserves to be happy again after what he endured in the last 10 years or more.

“Regardless of how their wedding unfolds, one thing is certain: 2Baba has made his choice. Whether met with applause or criticism, he seems determined to move forward, embracing the love he has found in Natasha.”

His journey from a past filled with public drama to a future with newfound serenity signals a man ready to turn the page and write a different love story.

One capital city is home to 4,200 millionaires and two billionaires, making it the richest city in West Africa, and the fifth wealthiest city in the whole continent. In this sprawling city, 4,200 residents have over $1million to their name, 12 have more than $100million, and there are two billionaires, according to the Africa Wealth Report 2024 by Henley and Partners.

Lagos, the capital of Nigeria and the most populated city in Africa, is the base for the Nigerian Stock Exchange, and multi-national giants like the Dangote Group, owned by Aliko Dangote – a man estimated to be worth over $23.9billion (£18.8billion). Nearly half of Nigeria’s wealthiest live in Lagos, as the country itself has 8,200 millionaires and three billionaires, making it Africa’s third wealthiest country, behind South Africa and Egypt. However, in the decade from 2013 to 2023, Lagos’ millionaire population shrunk by 48%, the biggest drop seen among all the top 20 cities on the list.

Dominic Volek, group head of private clients at Henley and Partners, said that currency depreciation and underperforming stock markets have “chipped away at Africa’s wealth compared to global benchmarks”.

He added that the Naira currency in Nigeria has dramatically depreciated by over 75% compared to the dollar over the past 10 years.

Head of Research at New World Wealth, Andrew Amoils, commented that African nations are also losing large numbers of HNWIs to migration, leaving for places such as the UAE.

Conversely, the report predicts that expect Cape Town, the Whale Coast, Kigali, Windhoek, Swakopmund, Nairobi, Tangier, and Marrakech will see over 85% millionaire growth in the next decade, to 2033.

Overall, Africa’s millionaire numbers are expected to rise by 65% over the forecast period with solid growth projected in most major cities.

Henley and Partners predicts key industries to be fintech, eco-tourism, business process outsourcing, software development, rare metals mining, green tech, media and entertainment, and wealth management.

The figures gathered were rounded to the nearest 100, from December 2023.

Mahama champions collaboration, trade during Bamako visit

0

President John Dramani Mahama paid a working visit to Bamako, Mali on Saturday, where discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations, addressing regional security concerns, and fostering economic growth.

Mr Mahama noted that the visit underscored the enduring friendship between the two nations, built upon a foundation laid by their founding fathers, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and President Keita.

The visit continues President Mahama’s efforts to engage with neighbouring countries and strengthen Ghana’s policy of good neighbourliness. He was received at the airport by the Malian leader, General Assimi Goita, before their meetings in the Presidential Palace. From Mali, Mr Mahama will continue to Niger and Burkina Faso.

Speaking to the press after a closed-door meeting with Malian Transition President General Assimi Goita, Mr Mahama emphasised the historic ties between Ghana and Mali.

“Everybody knows the historic relations that have existed between Ghana and Mali since the period of our ex-presidents, Keita and Dr. Kwame Nkrumah… and so I came on a friendly visit, and also to thank President Goita for allowing Prime Minister Maiga to visit Ghana when I was being inaugurated as president.”

Mr. Mahama underscored the importance of transit trade and the deep cultural ties that bind the two nations, reiterating Ghana’s dedication to promoting economic growth across the subregion. Discussions also focused on reviving the stalled Technical Joint Cooperation framework, initiated in 2011, to address existing trade and diplomatic bottlenecks.

Recognising the growing threat of insurgency and terrorism in West Africa, President Mahama engaged in crucial discussions regarding enhanced security cooperation, particularly with the Alliance of Sahel States (AES). He stressed the importance of strengthening ties to advance Africa’s sovereignty and find collaborative solutions to these pressing regional challenges.

Addressing the complex relationship between the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the Sahel states (Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger), President Mahama expressed his belief that despite their departure from ECOWAS, the friendship and brotherly love between the people should continue. He advocated for continued dialogue and reconciliation between the Sahel states and the regional bloc.

Before the bilateral talks, Mr. Mahama stopped along the road in front of his hotel to acknowledge greetings from the Ghanaian community in Bamako, demonstrating his commitment to the well-being of Ghanaian citizens abroad.

The day ended with a visit to the historic statue of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, located in the heart of Bamako. This is a powerful symbol of the shared history and pan-African aspirations of Ghana and Mali.

President Mahama and Malian counterpart hold bilateral discussions

0

By Iddi Yire

Accra, March 08, GNA – President John Dramani Mahama on Saturday visited  his Malian counterpart, President General Assimi Goita in Bamako.

The visit was a continuation of his visits to neighbouring countries to consolidate Ghana’s good neighbourliness policy.

The two leaders took the opportunity to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation, trade and economic cooperation between their two countries.

They also discussed defence cooperation in the light of the fight against terrorism and the departure of three Sahelian countries – Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger from the ECOWAS bloc to form the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).

Speaking to the press after their meeting,, President John Dramani Mahama, who described his visit to Mali as a friendly one, noted that everybody knew the historical relations that existed between Ghana and Mali since the period of their first Presidents: Dr Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana and Modibo Keita of Mali.

He  reiterated that Ghana and Mali had had close relations.

President Mahama expressed gratitude to President Goita for sending Prime Minister Abdoulaye Maiga to grace his inauguration on January 7, in Accra, which he added was a good sign that Ghanaians appreciated.

“We know that for a very long time our countries trade among each other. Our people travel freely among each other. There is a big Malian population living in Ghana, they are involved in business, they are settled peacefully in Ghana, they are actually citizens of both Ghana and Mali,” President Mahama said.

He said, he and Malian counterpart had had the opportunity to discuss how to make their economic relations stronger.

He said there were transit corridors between Ghana and Mali; stating that a lot of long distance drivers, both Malians and Ghanaians transport goods from ports in Ghana to Mali and from Mali back to Ghana’s ports for export.

He said they also discussed how they could remove the challenges to facilitate the movement of drivers in the the countries.

President MMahamasaid they discussed the strengthening of their defence cooperation in the light of the fight against terrorism and how Ghana could be of help in terms of cooperating with Alliance in terms of fight against terrorism.

This, he said was because they were all in the same sub-region and terrorism in one country was a threat to all of them.

“And so we had a discussion on how we can strengthen our bilateral relations in terms of the fight against terrorism.”

On the departure of the three Sahelian countries from ECOWAS to form the AES, President Mahama said they recognized that there had been some issues of trust between the two groups (ECOWAS and AES).

“At the same time I think that we have to have mutual respect for each other and I am sure that if we re able to do that we can continue to work together,” President Mahama said.

“And I think that it is choice that Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger have made but that wouldn’t be an impediment for us to continue to have our bilateral relations.

“We are brothers and God put us in this sub-region for a purpose and so whether we like it or not, we are to live together.”

President Mahama said there was the need to establish a mutual respect between the AES and ECOWAS; saying “And I am sure that if we are able to build on trust, we should be able to work together”.

Among members of President Mahama’s delegation were Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Presidential Spokesman and Minister of State in-charge of Government Communications, Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Stan Dogbe, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Presidency in-charge of Operations and Colonel Larry Gbevlo-Lartey, Special Envoy for the Alliance of Sahel States.

Mahama-appointed CEOs rejecting fellow party members appointed to their institutions – Dr Sam Ayeh alleges

0

President John Dramani Mahama President John Dramani Mahama

Dr. Samuel Ayeh, a staff member of the Communications Department at the Presidency, has criticized some Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) appointed by President John Mahama to State-Owned Enterprises for allegedly rejecting appointments made to their institutions.

According to him, some party members appointed to positions such as Corporate Affairs Managers in certain institutions are being turned away by their fellow party members who serve as CEOs of these organizations.

Speaking on Asempa FM, as monitored by GhanaWeb, Dr. Samuel Ayeh described this behavior as unacceptable, warning that the party’s base would not tolerate such conduct.

“I am not happy. I have received several calls from our party base. Some of the CEOs who have been appointed have started developing negative attitudes. We all campaigned for this party, and some people even lost their lives in the process. Because of the intense campaign schedule, some even lost their marriages, while others lost their jobs. If you have been fortunate enough to be appointed as a CEO, you should not lord it over others.

“I have heard that some CEOs are rejecting certain appointments made to their institutions, behaving as though they appointed themselves. Some individuals have been appointed as Corporate Affairs Directors in various state institutions, yet when they report for duty, they are turned away by the CEOs under the pretext that there is no space. Is it not the President who created a position for you and appointed you? If the same President has appointed others to your institution to assist you in your work, why would you reject them?”

He continued, “I have no reason to doubt the information I have received. If you have been appointed as a CEO, you must not act as if you are superior to others. These are the very issues that plagued the NPP and led to their downfall. The NDC base is not prepared to lose this opportunity that has been given to them. If you are a CEO, happily driving your Land Cruiser around with your family, you must not, under any circumstances, treat others in a manner that undermines the very foundation of the position granted to you or the party we all serve.

“As a CEO, you must be very careful because, while you are an individual, the party base consists of millions of people. Let us work in the best interest of both the country and the party that has entrusted us with these positions.”
