The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Simon Madjie, has called on investors to take advantage of Ghana’s pro-business environment.

He said government initiatives, including the 24-Hour Economy and Export Development Programme and the Big Push Agenda, are key drivers of growth and investment opportunities in the country.

Madjie made the remarks when GIPC hosted a delegation from Casablanca Finance City (CFC) during its 2025 West Africa Tour.

He emphasised that the policies are designed to support companies exploring business opportunities in Ghana.

The 24-Hour Economy and Export Development Programme encourages firms, particularly in priority sectors, to operate round the clock through multiple shifts, with the aim of increasing productivity, creating jobs and enhancing Ghana’s competitiveness in the West African region.

The Big Push Agenda focuses on large-scale infrastructure projects, including roads, ports and industrial zones, to promote sustainable economic growth and attract long-term investment.

The delegation, led by Aziz El Khyari, Director of Business Development and African Cooperation at CFC, commended Ghana’s improving infrastructure and vibrant tourism sector.

Zipline to shut down three centres over GH¢175m debt

0

The Minority in Parliament has revealed that medical drone delivery company Zipline is shutting down three of its operational centres due to the government’s indebtedness amounting to GH¢175 million.

The caucus warned that the move poses a grave danger to public health, as the closures will severely disrupt the delivery of blood, vaccines and other life-saving medical supplies, particularly to hard-to-reach communities that rely heavily on the drone service.

Raising the concern during debate on the 2026 Budget on Tuesday, November 25, the Ranking Member on the Health Committee, Dr Ayew Afriyie, criticised the government for failing to engage the company and honour its financial obligations, despite recognising Zipline’s critical role in the health delivery chain.

“Zipline is decommissioning three of its centres, Centres 4, 5 and 6. There has been no engagement and an inability on the part of the government to provide funds.

“The allocation for Zipline was only GH¢20 million, even though the government currently owes the company GH¢175 million,” he said.

Why I left my car with UK police after it was impounded – Don Jazzy

0

By Patrick Igwe

Music mogul, Don Jazzy has cleared up an old story from his early days in the UK that recently resurfaced online.

The conversation started when his former associate Bankulli shared a dramatic version of an incident where Don Jazzy supposedly crashed a car in London, removed the plate number, and ran before the police arrived.

“He was coming from Solec, he went to perform for Solec and he was sleeping, he crashed his car, he left the car removed the plate number and ran away. Why, because you will pay more to carry that car away from there than to repair,” Bankulli said.

According to Bankulli, young Don Jazzy was trying to survive and escaping felt like his only option.

“Because Jazzy was trying to survive in London, he had an accident inside the Blackwall Tunnel. The car got destroyed, do you know jazzy abandoned the car”

The story caused a stir when an X user suggested the UK could reopen the case if Don Jazzy visited now, raising fears among fans.

Don Jazzy responded and set the record straight.

He explained that he did not run. Instead, “I actaully waited for the police,” Jazzy said. “The officers gave me a breathalyser to determine if I was drunk, I wasn’t but the car was impounded,” Jazzy further explained.

Jazzy in his tweet explained that the actual issue was the cost. The fine to retrieve the vehicle was higher than the value of the car itself, so he decided to leave it behind.

He said, “The fine to collect the car back was more than the cheap car so i left it with them lol”

GFA President launches historic insurance policy to enhance welfare of Ghanaian referees – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

0

President of the Ghana Football Association and CAF 2nd Vice-President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has launched a comprehensive insurance policy for referees.

The launch is a major step forward in welfare and protection for match officials across the country’s domestic leagues.

The initiative, introduced on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, fulfils a pledge he made during the 31st Ordinary Session of Congress in Prampram in August.

According to the GFA President, this is a significant moment for Ghanaian football, underlining the central role referees play in maintaining the integrity of the game.

He noted that the commitment made at Congress was deliberate, aimed at improving working conditions for referees nationwide. “I assured you that the Football Association under my leadership would take bold steps to elevate referee welfare, strengthen officiating standards and provide the necessary protection and motivation for the men and women who uphold the game’s integrity,’ he said.

All 280 referees in the Premier League, Division One League and Women’s Premier League have been enrolled in the new scheme. The package covers Group Life, Critical Illness, Permanent Disability, Medical Expenses and Workmen’s Compensation. Additional benefits extend support to spouses, children and parents, along with funeral assistance.

“This is not just an insurance policy; it is a social protection package,” Simeon-Okraku said, adding that it reflects the FA’s commitment to safeguarding referees and their families.

Alongside the insurance scheme, the GFA has also provided improved logistics. Every referee will receive two pairs of boots per season, three sets of uniforms and three sets of warm-up kits. He noted that this is the first time officials have been offered such a complete logistical package.

Referees will also continue to enjoy a 50 percent discount on official travel through the FA’s long-standing partnership with STC.

Simeon-Okraku outlined further strides in the development of officiating standards, including fitness tests, performance-based appointments, nationwide refresher courses and the expanded use of video analysis. He also highlighted progress in female officiating and the growth of the Catch Them Young programme.

He described the launch as the start of a new chapter for Ghanaian refereeing. “Today signals the beginning of a future where referees step onto the pitch with peace of mind, knowing that their health, safety and dignity are protected,” he stated.

The event was attended by senior officials from Enterprise Life Assurance Company, the Referees Committee and male and female FIFA referees.

Let’s patronise and give our feedback on movie industry – Adjetey Anang

Ghanaian actor Adjetey Anang has urged Ghanaians to actively support the local movie industry and provide constructive feedback to help shape its growth.

Speaking in an interview on November 23, 2025, the celebrated actor noted that the industry has undergone a challenging phase but is gradually bouncing back with stronger and better-researched productions.

“We’ve gone through a phase and I think we are just coming out of it. There were times where if you want to compare with some time back, we were doing pretty well.

“In terms of the volumes that we churn out over the period, I think we’ve become more inward-looking and it takes time because we are doing more research,” he said.

He stated that several promising productions are being released, which he believes will elevate the industry to its rightful place and even take it beyond previous heights.

“There’s some bright products or contents coming out there that will put us back where we were supposed to be and beyond. Let’s give it some time and most importantly, let’s patronise and let’s give our feedbacks,” he shared.

‘We shouldn’t flood YouTube with mediocre content’ – Adjetey Anang backs Djansi

Addressing the importance of recognising industry veterans, Adjetey Anang lamented that Ghana often fails to celebrate its creative pioneers while they are still alive.

He highlighted efforts being made to correct this trend, particularly through recent events dedicated to honouring living legends in the film and theatre space.

“That’s why we’ve been intentional especially with this event where on the beginning of the Monday, we’re doing that,” he noted.

Adjetey continued, “We are honouring our legends who are living because sometimes, it’s when they’re gone that we do that and I’m happy that Fiifi Coleman is also doing something like that.”

Adjetey Anang stressed the importance of acknowledging those who laid the foundation for the current generation of actors.

“It’s important for us to know that these are guys who held for fort for us and inspired us and today we’re here,” he added.

1xBet presents 1xBalance – A project showing how responsible gaming can be exciting

0

Today, the term “responsible gaming” is heard more and more often — on social networks, in the media, and within the player community. However, what does this concept really mean? It’s not about bans and restrictions.

It’s about skills that help you play smarter: self-control, discipline, and the ability to manage emotions or to avoid unnecessary risks. Most importantly, these skills can be learned just like any others.

That is exactly how 1xBet views responsible gaming, launching the large-scale special project 1xBalance. It’s not boring theory, but a lively, dynamic format that combines learning and entertainment.

As part of the campaign, social media regularly features interactive activities, challenges, and educational content where users can not only gain new knowledge but also earn promo points for participation.

For example, there are currently two vibrant contests running on the brand’s social media:

The first is the Telegram giveaway 1xBalance is Back, where users can compete for one of five promo codes.

The mechanics are simple:

● follow the channel

● like the post

● write a comment: Balance + your 1xBet ID.

Link to Telegram

The second activity is a social media prediction contest based on analyzing team statistics. Participants are invited to review the data on Chelsea and Barcelona and make their prediction for the result of the Champions League Matchday 5 game.

What you need to do:

● follow the page and like the post

● look through the statistics in the carousel,

● write a comment with your 1xBet ID + prediction (Chelsea, draw, or Barcelona).

Link to the contest

Among those who correctly guess the result, winners will be randomly selected to receive promo codes. Both initiatives encourage users not to act impulsively but to analyze, assess, and make well-considered decisions — in other words, to apply the principles of responsible gaming in real-world scenarios.

Through such initiatives, 1xBalance is not just informing people, it is building a new gaming culture: honest, conscious, and modern.

Here, responsible gaming is shown not as a limitation, but as an advantage. It gives you the freedom to control the process, understand yourself better, and enjoy the game without extremes.

The 1xBalance project can be helpful for anyone who values smart entertainment and aims to act confidently and safely. It’s an environment where knowledge becomes a tool, and learning becomes an exciting experience that easily integrates into everyday play.

Court remands woman, 36, for pouring hot-water on 9-year-old sister

0

The Tafo Circuit Court in the Ashanti Region has remanded a 36-year-old sex worker into prison custody for allegedly pouring hot water on her nine-year-old sister and inflicting knife wounds after the child defecated in the room.

The accused, Beauty Alakwe, has been charged with assault and causing harm. The victim, Ruth Wisdom, is currently under the care of Social Welfare Officers in Kwabre East, who are overseeing her treatment and well-being.

The intervention followed a directive from the Minister for Gender and Social Protection, Naa MoMo Lartey, after a Citi News report brought the case to light.

According to co-tenants, Alakwe has been abusing the child, who was brought from Nigeria to live with her at Duase in the Kumasi Metropolis. The alleged attack occurred after the girl was beaten and injured for defecating in the room.

The accused’s co-tenants said the suspect typically locks the victim and her own child in their room overnight while she goes to work, returning the next evening. The room lacks a toilet facility, forcing the children to rely on a public toilet nearby.

When the victim cannot reach the toilet in time and uses a plastic bag, the accused reportedly responds with severe beatings.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday, November 22, prompted neighbours and co-tenants to rescue the girl and take her to Manhyia Hospital, where health workers observed multiple old bruises indicative of long-term abuse

During court proceedings on Tuesday, November 25, the accused requested legal representation, which the court granted. The court, presided over by His Honour Festus Fovi Nukunu, initially remanded her in police custody.

However, the prosecution requested that she be remanded in prison instead, citing non-functional washroom facilities at the Kenyasi Police cells.

Beauty Alakwe has been remanded into prison custody and is expected to reappear in court on December 12, 2025.

DOVVSU encourages public to report domestic abuses

0

By Laudia Sawer, GNA

Accra, Nov. 25, GNA – The Domestic Violence Victim Support Unit of the Ghana Police Service (DOVVSU) has encouraged the public, especially women who are going through domestic abuses, to promptly report to save their lives.

Madam Victoria Larbi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), at Adenta DOVVSU, speaking with some selected women in the area, said the Unit was established to handle cases of abuses, therefore victims must report their issues instead of suffering in silence.

ASP Larbi was speaking at an engagement organised by the Adenta Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), in collaboration with the GIZ and the European Union on rule of law and corruption.

She said DOVVSU was established to protect women, children and men who faced all forms of abuses, explaining that they handled a wide range of issues, including domestic physical, emotional, financial, economic, verbal, non-verbal as well as sexual abuses respectively.

She explained that physical abuse involved inflicting pain on the body, while emotional abuse could involve acts of innuendo, mocking, and body shaming, such as calling people ‘Oboshie’(overweight).

She said keeping such emotional abuses without seeking help could lead to hypertension and living in fear; therefore, it was very important for people to speak up against such acts.

ASP Larbi further stated that sexual abuse could also come in forms like inappropriate, unapproved physical fumbling, advising that parents must also pay attention to their male children, as now some were also being ‘sodomised.’

“Now, even the boys are also being abused; don’t think that it is only the girls that are prone to sexual abuse. Some women too are abusing men sexually; they slap their buttocks and touching them inappropriately and they must report too,” she said.

On financial abuse, she said, “If the person who is supposed to care for you financially, for example, your husband is not giving you money or is exploiting you financially, it amounts to financial abuse.”

Touching on other abuses, she indicated that refusing to provide food for one’s children and women refusing to help their husbands when in need amounted to economic abuse, while other abuses included psychological and digital abuses.

Madam Araba Diaba (Esq.), the Head of the Madina Office of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), talking on corruption, noted that it came in many forms, including bribery, nepotism, embezzlement, and favouritism.

Madam Diaba said corrupt practices affected all Ghanaians one way or the other, explaining that it had a rippling effect on the provision of good health, education, social amenities, and other developmental projects.

Madam Sylvia Osei-Bonsu, the Adenta NCCE Municipal Director, urged Ghanaians to join in the corruption fight by reporting such activities to authorities for actions to be taken.

She encouraged groups to contact and invite the NCCE and other partner agencies to their meetings for such education.

The Supreme Court has granted Democracy Hub the right to file an address as a friend of the court (amicus curiae) in the case challenging alleged religious discrimination at the Wesley Girls Senior High School in the Central Region.

According to a report by adomonline.com, “the court in its ruling on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, directed Wesley Girls SHS, the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Attorney General (AG) to file their responses to the plaintiff’s suit.”

Shafic Osman is challenging what he describes as religious discrimination at Wesley Girls SHS.

AG justifies Wesley Girls’ religious policies in response to Supreme Court suit

He argues that Muslim students have been restricted from practicing important aspects of their faith, including wearing the hijab, fasting during Ramadan, and performing other Islamic rites.

According to him, these restrictions violate several constitutional freedoms guaranteed under the 1992 Constitution.

Lawyer sues Wesley Girls’ SHS for allegedly denying Muslim students right to practise their religion

The report further noted that,”The Attorney General, representing Wesley Girls SHS and the GES, has defended the school’s position, insisting that as an institution founded and run by the Methodist Church, it has the right to maintain its denominational identity.”

The AG is seeking leave to change its original statement of case to challenge the plaintiff’s arguments.

“Achimota is the cradle of leadership and holistic education. Every student who walks through these halls is part of a shared purpose: to learn, to serve, and to lead.”

Dr. Aryee urged alumni to contribute to Achimota’s legacy with integrity, vision, and inclusivity, emphasising the project’s role in sustaining excellence in STEM education for generations to come.

“Legacy is about lasting impact,” Larbi said. “We want this to be a project that alumni, years from now, can look back on and say, ‘I’m proud I was part of it.’”

The committee also launched an open fundraising appeal, inviting alumni, partners, and well-wishers to contribute toward completing the project to the highest standards.

OAA 2G1 praised all participants and encouraged the wider community to support the Legacy Project, aiming to ensure its successful completion for future generations of Achimota students.

Two slightly decomposing dead bodies have been found in a parked vehicle at Agogo shoe factory.

According to reports gathered by OTEC News, the two were employees of a Chinese-owned business, Asomdwie Rubber company, located in the former Kumasi shoe factory compound at Atonsu-Agogo.

The deceased have been identified as Baba, a senior staff member, and a female colleague whose name is yet to be confirmed.

The woman, a junior staff member, had joined the company less than two months ago.

According to reports, their deaths are still a mystery. The woman’s head was resting on Baba when the two were found on the back seat of the car.

He was wearing only shorts and a singlet. The doors of the car were locked, and its tinted windows were rolled up.

Sources say the two were present at the wedding of one of Asomdwie Rubber Company’s managers on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

Later that evening, the female employee reported for her shift, complained of feeling unwell and was asked to go home.

Around 8 p.m., residents observed Baba’s vehicle driving into the area before it parked with the engine initially running, which later went off.

The car remained unmoved. It was not until Monday, November 24, 2025, when workers and residents noticed a bad stench and called authorities. Officers discovered the two bodies after smashing the car’s windows to get inside.

Reports indicates that Baaba married in August 2025 and his wife is currently pregnant, while the female employee was preparing for her wedding slated for December 2025.

The police have taken the bodies to the morgue and tolled the vehicle as investigations continue.

Here’s what the latest inflation and spending data reveals about the US economy

The survey also showed growing pessimism among respondents about job availability The survey also showed growing pessimism among respondents about job availability

America’s economic mood is souring as worries about the labor market mount.

The Conference Board’s latest survey of American consumers, released Tuesday, showed that consumer confidence declined sharply this month to a reading of 88.7, the lowest level since April, when President Donald Trump unveiled sweeping tariffs.

“Consumers’ write-in responses pertaining to factors affecting the economy continued to be led by references to prices and inflation, tariffs and trade, and politics, with increased mentions of the federal government shutdown,” Dana Peterson, the Conference Board’s chief economist, said in a release. The government shutdown ended earlier this month, so consumer confidence could rebound in December.

The survey also showed growing pessimism among respondents about job availability and income prospects in the next six months.

“Mid-2026 expectations for labor market conditions remained decidedly negative, and expectations for increased household incomes shrunk dramatically, after six months of strongly positive readings,” Peterson said.

There have been high-profile announcements of layoffs in recent weeks, but that doesn’t immediately translate into higher unemployment, which was at a low 4.4% rate in September, according to the latest Labor Department data.

Why Charlotte Osei was removed as EC Chair – Manhyia South MP reveals [Audio]

0

The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, says former Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson Charlotte Osei brought her removal in June 2018 upon herself.

Speaking on Adom FM’s, morning show, Dwaso Nsem, the MP insisted that former President Nana Akufo-Addo had no intention of removing Charlotte Osei from office.

“There was no way Akufo-Addo was going to remove Charlotte Osei. She brought her own removal upon herself,” he said.

According to him, Charlotte Osei attempted to use her relationship with the former president to influence internal issues at the Commission.

“Charlotte wanted her deputies out of office, and because she had a good relationship with former President Akufo-Addo, she thought she could leverage that to get them removed,” he claimed.

However, he said the situation backfired when her deputies turned against her.

“Her deputies turned against her with everything they knew, including information from the procurement officer at the EC,” he noted.

Mr Baffour Awuah explained that former President Akufo-Addo assigned someone to handle the matter, and the issue later reached the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

“When the matter went to EOCO, her deputies saw it and decided to also work against her,” he said.

He added that her deputies eventually petitioned against her, prompting then-President Akufo-Addo to refer the matter to the Chief Justice for further action.

“Her deputies petitioned, and President Akufo-Addo simply forwarded the matter to the Chief Justice to handle. That is all. So there was no way the president himself would have removed Charlotte Osei,” he stressed.

The MP made the comments while reacting to the recent removal of former Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

He cautioned that constitutional procedures must always be respected.

“The Constitution should not be treated as mere letters. If we take shortcuts in due process, it will have long-term consequences,” he warned.

Mr Baffour Awuah further stated that the grounds being used against former Chief Justice Torkornoo were inappropriate.

“I believe the charges they are using to push Torkornoo out are not right,” he added.

He also disclosed his past working relationship with Charlotte Osei, noting that he handled litigation for her former law firm.

“One of the law firms that gave me the opportunity to practise as a lawyer was Charlotte Osei’s firm. They knew I liked litigation, so they gave me all their court cases—and I did those cases. But the truth is what I have said,” he pointed out.

Lovely African Braids for Women in 2025

0

African women continue to showcase an extraordinary range of hairstyles that represent beauty, culture, identity, and creativity. Over the years, these styles have evolved, blending tradition with modern trends while maintaining their cultural significance. Today, many African ladies proudly embrace hairstyles that not only enhance their appearance but also protect and nurture their natural hair.

Among the most celebrated styles are braids. Box braids, cornrows, and Ghana braids remain timeless choices across the continent. These protective styles are valued for their durability, convenience, and versatility. Many women choose braids because they can last for weeks, reduce the stress of daily styling, and support healthy hair growth. The styles also allow for artistic expression, as they can be arranged in various patterns and decorated with beads, cuffs, or colored threads.

Another iconic hairstyle is the afro. Whether worn in its full natural form or styled into twist-outs, the afro continues to symbolize pride and authenticity. As the natural hair movement gains momentum, more women are choosing to wear their curls and coils with confidence. This trend has encouraged the use of natural hair products that enhance texture and promote healthy maintenance routines.

Bantu knots, twists, locs, and weaves also play significant roles in African hair culture. Bantu knots, known for their unique appearance and cultural roots, offer both style and symbolism. Locs, which can be worn freeform or styled, represent patience, strength, and spiritual connection. Twists and weaves provide flexible options, allowing women to achieve volume, length, or a completely different look without compromising their natural hair.

Modern innovations have further expanded styling choices. Wigs and crochet braids have become popular for their low-maintenance qualities and versatility. These options allow women to switch their appearance effortlessly while protecting their natural hair from heat, chemicals, and environmental damage. Many women appreciate the convenience these modern styles offer, especially in busy lifestyles.

I’ll create NPP welfare office at Jubilee House

0

Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, says he will establish a dedicated office at the Jubilee House to oversee the welfare of party members and ensure equal opportunities for all if he wins the party’s flagbearership race and subsequently the 2028 presidential election.

He explained that the initiative is part of his broader commitment to improving the well-being of loyal party members.

Addressing delegates during his campaign tour of the Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, November 25, he said, “I will create a dedicated office at the Jubilee House with a welfare officer to cater for the needs of party members.”

Dr. Adutwum also pledged to introduce a Patriotic Health Insurance Scheme to cover medical expenses for party members that are not catered for under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

He added that he plans to provide grants to party members involved in trading to help them grow and strengthen their businesses.

Dr. Adutwum appealed to delegates to throw their support behind his candidature and vote massively for him in January 2026. He urged them to remain confident in his vision, stressing that he is fully prepared and poised for victory.

Angry Ernestina Fosuh blasts Odo Broni amid confusion over Daddy Lumba’s funeral date

0

Daddy Lumba’s elder sister, Ernestina Fosuh — known publicly as Akosua Brimpongmaa — has sparked controversy on social media after criticising the late musician’s second wife, Odo Broni, over plans for his upcoming funeral.

In a statement signed by Ernestina and other immediate family members, they rejected the proposed funeral date of December 13, 2025 and accused Odo Broni of working with the family head, Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu, to make unauthorised withdrawals from the funeral account.

Poor online presence silently killing Ghanaian SMEs

0

How do you compete when only the winners get the contract? Many small and medium enterprises in Ghana continue to lose visibility, credibility and revenue because their digital presence fails to meet basic global business standards.

The problem is widespread and affects regulated industries that should ideally lead the country in digital adoption.

A simple audit of professional sectors in 2025 reveals an alarming truth. Ghanaian businesses operate in a global digital economy, yet most of them remain invisible online.

EnspireFX Websites, a leading web development company in Ghana, has monitored this situation closely for years. The company specialises in premium, high-performance website design and development for SMEs, financial institutions, professional service firms and international organisations.

The team at EnspireFX observed a troubling pattern across almost every local industry, and the data confirms that many businesses continue to lose money because their digital infrastructure is either weak or absent.

My recent checks in 2025 highlight the scale of the problem. The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ghana published a list of 367 licensed accounting firms. A review of these firms shows that only about 130 even had websites. Out of those 130, only 87 had functioning sites that loaded properly. The rest had expired domain renewals, inactive hosting servers or broken pages.

The banking and finance sector had similar results. Many Bank of Ghana-licensed savings and loans companies, microfinance institutions, rural banks, microcredit companies and investment firms had non-functioning websites. A considerable number of them had corporate emails that did not work at all. Basic communication channels that form the foundation of trust in global finance were simply unavailable.

The situation within technical professional bodies did not look any better. One would expect a stronger online presence from the Ghana Institution of Engineers or the Ghana Institute of Architects.

These are industries built on precision, quality control and technical leadership. Yet a significant portion of these firms did not have functioning websites or updated digital profiles. This absence created a credibility gap that directly affects partnerships, procurement and professional visibility.

A major cause of this widespread digital failure comes from poor experiences with web designers in the past. Many SMEs invested in websites only to lose those investments before the year ended.

The rise of the student developer phenomenon made the issue worse. IT students with a few months of WordPress experience often took on full commercial projects. They offered extremely cheap pricing, then delivered non-functional or poorly built websites that broke quickly.

These websites lacked renewal structures, security measures, maintenance plans and long-term ownership documentation. Businesses lost money, lost confidence and avoided further investment in online systems. The industry now suffers from deep mistrust.

The global impact of this cannot be overlooked. SMEs in Ghana attempt to compete with firms abroad that take digital presence seriously.

A one-man carpenter or plumber in the United States often operates with a fully functional website, structured service pages, working email accounts and review systems. Meanwhile, licensed audit firms, engineering firms and law firms in Ghana sometimes lack even a basic website or LinkedIn presence.

The gap in professionalism becomes obvious to potential clients. Many Ghanaian firms have names that mirror industry naming conventions abroad. Terms like Associates and Partners appear frequently.

A search for a Ghanaian firm called AA Partners, for example, produces dozens of results from the United Kingdom and other countries because those firms dominate search engines. Ghanaian brands disappear entirely.

You have to understand that when it comes to online visibility and authority, the older the better. After 6 years of solid online presence, you can’t search for any web design-related query on Google and not find EnspireFX.

We’re so prominent, we even dominate searches in Sierra Leone, Gambia, Liberia, Cameroon, and Rwanda, and more. We even rank in Delaware and Dallas, Texas, in the US, after working with several US SMEs from there.

So, existing limitations in online presence prevent SMEs from establishing international credibility. Local professional service firms such as accounting firms, legal chambers, engineers and consultants have the capacity to work for clients around the world. Yet, they lose these opportunities because global clients cannot verify their existence.
A company cannot enter meaningful partnerships when it lacks a basic website. Directory listings such as Yellow Pages Ghana and scattered social media pages do not count as a digital presence. They only highlight the absence of ownership over the brand’s identity online.

Modern markets do not treat all companies equally. The power-law distribution affects almost every industry. Studies across the world show that a small percentage of players control most of the profits, visibility and trust. 10% of companies capture up to 99% of industry profits. In digital markets, 1% often controls more than 70% of attention and revenue.

The same pattern appears in SaaS, content creation, e-commerce and finance. The most visible brands attract the most clients, investors and opportunities. The invisible brands remain unknown, regardless of competence. Ghanaian SMEs that lack functional websites fall automatically into the unseen category.

The consequences go beyond lost sales. A poor online presence damages brand perception. Web-savvy competitors attract clients through search engines, LinkedIn, Google Business Profiles and targeted content. Meanwhile, local SMEs that depend solely on word-of-mouth remain stuck in small geographic circles with their desire to get on TV and radio.

They miss global partnerships, supply chain networks, outsourcing opportunities and export opportunities. Local professionals cannot demonstrate thought leadership without a digital platform. Their competitors in Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, the UK and the US position themselves as industry authorities while Ghanaian firms remain silent online.

I know an engineering firm that got the offer to partner with a global giant as their Ghanaian local partner, purely because they had a website. The global firm was looking for a local rep, and an online search brought up this company; they were the only Ghanaian firm in the search results.

What can we do?

EnspireFX has designed solutions to correct this challenge. We provide transparent website design packages that match different business needs and budgets. Clients can choose from one-page landing sites, startup websites, SME business websites or full e-commerce systems.

These packages include domain registration, website hosting, corporate email setup, SSL certificates, mobile-first design, search engine optimisation, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Google Merchant Centre integration, WhatsApp chat, security firewalls, automatic daily backups, speed optimisation, newsletter signup systems and conversion tools.

Completion periods range from seven to twenty-eight working days, depending on the project scale. Pricing ranges from ₵2,490.00 for basic one-pager sites to ₵6,490.00 for comprehensive e-commerce systems.

We believe ₵2,490.00 is low enough for the most cash-strapped firm, and not be drawn to cheap offers from inexperienced fly-by-night designers.

A critical commitment from EnspireFX protects clients from the problems that caused this industry breakdown. We ensure that every client owns and controls all licences and digital assets. Domain registrations, hosting accounts, cPanel access, corporate email servers, website backend access and third-party platforms are always set up in the client’s name.

EnspireFX operates strictly as a contractor working on the client’s assets with the client’s approval. Clients retain full control even if we are no longer involved in the project. This approach aligns with international best practices and complies with Ghanaian data protection and intellectual property laws.

No business should lose access to its own website because a developer who was only building sites as a hobby has now landed a “proper” job and disappeared. EnspireFX makes sure that never happens.

Real-world results support this approach. Testimonials from healthcare firms, construction companies, e-commerce brands and creative businesses confirm that well-built websites increase visibility, strengthen trust and improve conversions.

Clients frequently report faster websites, improved ranking on Google, better user experience and stronger digital credibility. These gains turn directly into revenue.

So, Ghanaian SMEs can transform their competitiveness by improving their online presence. The world rewards visibility, consistency and digital accessibility. Local firms that ignore their websites will continue to lose global opportunities.

Also, a functioning website creates new markets, long-term partnerships and international reach. Ghana cannot participate fully in the global economy if its professional firms remain offline.

Any SME that wants to grow must take its digital presence seriously. EnspireFX offers solutions that protect the client, guarantee transparency and deliver quality that meets global standards. We don’t need forever to reverse this. I strongly believe that even before the close of the year, we can help several SMEs to go online in a professional and budget-friendly way.

The country can reverse the digital credibility gap before 2026 if businesses make deliberate investment in functional, secure and high-performance websites. The opportunity exists. Ghanaian SMEs only need to take it.

JUST IN: Coach Evans Adotey resign as Basake Holy Stars head coach

0

Ghanaian tactician Augustine Evans Adotey has stepped down as gaffer of Premier league club Basake Holy Stars FC, following a difficult start to this seasons campaign.

The former Medeama SC coach believes the Aiyinase based outfit have struggled under his stewardship, harvesting some disappointing results not worth considering, hence decided to end relationship.

This comes as a shock, with few hours to Basake Holy Stars hosting Asante Kotoko SC in 2025/26 Premier league outstanding game on Wednesday.

Basake is currently battling to survive relegation, after Adotey accumulating six points in 10 matches. He harvested just one victory, accompanied by three draws and six defeats.

With Adotey’s departure, Holy Stars are now expected to begin the search for a new head coach as they look to revive their season and escape the drop zone.

Don’t prejudge petition against EC Boss — Gaming Commission Deputy CEO warns

0

Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gaming Commission, Lamtiig Apanga, has cautioned against premature conclusions regarding the petition seeking the removal of the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa, and her two deputies.

According to him, the petition should not be prejudged, noting that Ghana’s democratic framework provides clear procedures for addressing alleged misconduct by public officials.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily on Tuesday, November 25, he emphasised that submitting a petition does not automatically imply her removal, and that constitutional procedures must be respected without succumbing to political or public pressure.

“There are rules and regulations that govern these processes. Where there is stated misbehaviour, incompetence or irregularities, citizens have the right to bring petitions if they believe they have a reasonable basis. But it is premature to think the petition will succeed or fail because the President is yet to make any comment, and the processes are yet to be triggered,” he said. “

He emphasised that the petition marks only the first step, and the constitutional mechanisms designed to assess such allegations must be allowed to run their full course.

“This is just the first layer of activating a system. We must wait and see if indeed Jean Mensa did a good job and whether the petition has merit. We should see this as strengthening our democratic institutions and reinforcing structures that allow ordinary citizens to raise concerns that can be examined,” he noted.

His comments follow a formal petition submitted by Joseph Blankson Adumadzie, an Electoral Commission staff member, calling for the removal of the EC Chairperson and deputies Dr Bossman Eric Asare and Samuel Tettey.

In a statement issued on Monday, November 24, Mr Adumadzie confirmed that the petition was filed under Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution, which outlines procedures for removing heads of independent constitutional bodies. Although the details remain confidential as required by law, he disclosed that the petition is based on 12 allegations of stated misbehaviour, including claims of abuse of office and gross incompetence.

Sophisticated Dresses for the Modern Woman

0

A birthday is not just another day—it’s a celebration of life, accomplishments, and new beginnings. And what better way to mark the occasion than by wearing a classy birthday dress that makes you feel as fabulous as you are? Whether you’re hosting a glamorous party, enjoying a quiet dinner, or having a fun outing with friends, the right dress can elevate your entire celebration and leave a lasting impression.

Classy birthday dresses are all about combining timeless elegance with a touch of personality. For women looking to make a statement, a classic little black dress (LBD) is an undeniable choice. The LBD is versatile, effortlessly chic, and can be paired with elegant accessories to suit any birthday celebration, from a luxurious dinner to an evening of cocktails. The simplicity of the dress allows the wearer to experiment with shoes, jewelry, and makeup, personalizing the look without compromising its timeless appeal.

For those seeking something a bit more festive, a midi or maxi dress in bold, rich colors like deep red, emerald green, or royal blue can add a sense of occasion to your birthday ensemble. Flowing fabrics such as silk, chiffon, or satin create a sophisticated, ethereal look while offering comfort for a night of dancing or socializing. The flared silhouette or elegant draping of these dresses allows for movement and a sense of grandeur, ensuring you feel as graceful as you look.

Another popular option for a classy birthday dress is one with delicate lace or embellishments. Lace dresses bring an element of femininity and refinement, offering intricate designs that exude sophistication. Dresses adorned with subtle beading or sequins can add a glamorous touch without being too flashy, striking the perfect balance for an upscale yet tasteful look.

Classy birthday dresses often focus on tailoring and structure. Dresses with defined waists, like those with a fitted bodice and flared skirt or an A-line silhouette, enhance the natural shape of the body while providing a flattering and comfortable fit. These dresses allow women to exude confidence, making them feel poised and ready to take on the day.

Accessories play a key role in completing the classy birthday look. A statement clutch, elegant heels, and subtle jewelry like diamond studs or a delicate bracelet can transform a simple dress into something extraordinary. The beauty of a classy birthday dress lies in its ability to make the wearer feel celebrated and special, without needing to rely on extravagant designs.

A classy birthday dress is about more than just fashion—it’s about feeling confident, beautiful, and elegant as you celebrate another year of life. Whether opting for an iconic little black dress or a flowing gown with delicate details, the right dress will ensure you look and feel your best on your special day.

GA Chiefs honour Duke of Edinburgh with stool name ‘Nii Yehowada’

0

The Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs has bestowed the traditional stool name ‘Nii Yehowada’ on the Duke of Edinburgh, His Royal Highness Prince Edward, in recognition of the enduring relationship between Ghana and the United Kingdom.

During the Duke’s working visit to the Jubilee House on Tuesday, November 25, President of the Regional House of Chiefs, Oboade Notse King Professor Odaifio Welentsi III, said the honour reflects the shared history of the two nations and a commitment to future collaboration.

King Welentsi emphasised that while the relationship between Ghana and the UK is shaped by historical experiences, the focus now is on mutual interests in trade, climate action, education, and sustainable development.

He further lauded the Duke’s achievements in academia, charitable work, and public service, noting that these accomplishments inspired the chiefs’ decision.

“It brings the people of Greater Accra great joy to bestow a name upon His Royal Highness, Prince Edward. From the depth of our heart, we name you today Nii Yehowada, which means ‘God is great’,” he stated.

He added that the occasion underscores the importance of preserving cultural traditions while fostering deeper partnerships between Ghana and the United Kingdom.

Supreme Court orders Wesley Girls board to respond to religious rights suit

A new development has emerged in the case challenging the religious policy at Wesley Girls’ Senior High School, as the Supreme Court has directed the school’s Board of Directors to respond to the allegations within 14 days.

The order follows claims by plaintiff Shafic Osman, who argues that the school’s rules compelling Muslim students to attend Christian services and restricting their religious practice violate the 1992 Constitution.

Dormaa Community Mining Forum Records Strong Attendance

Dormaa Community – Mining Forum

The Community and Mining Forum held on Friday, 21st November 2025 at Dormaa-Ahenkro has been hailed as a major success, attracting 67 Assembly Members, Unit Committee Members, institutional heads, security agencies, Queen Mothers, Traditional Council representatives, the Municipal Chief Executive, the Presiding Member, and the Chief of Staff of Osagyefo Oseadeɛyɔ Dr. Agyeman Badu II.

Key institutions present included the NIB, Immigration Service, Customs & Preventive Service (CEPs), Police Service, Environmental Health Directorate, and several departmental supervisors. Mining companies AFA-EF Mining Ltd and Jegri Bekala Ltd were also invited.

Participants received critical education on environmental impacts, community rights, land compensation, security measures, and long-term expectations as mining activities begin in parts of Dormaa.

However, strong dissatisfaction was expressed over Jegri Bekala Mining Ltd’s poor representation. While, AFA-EF took the advantage of the forum and explained their operations. AFA-EF claim to have employed 35 locals in their prospecting operations even though they have not started mining. A claim Dormaaman Connect intend to verify. AFA-EF again promised the people to employ more of them as soon as possible. The Jegri Bekala Ltd on the other hand, being the company who have already started mining operations and thus the community needed their presence, sent only a single delegate Hon. Kumi Frank @ Aseebu who though part of the company, a formal DCE and also the chief of staff to Osagyefo, lacked the technical depth needed to address the community and mining concerns. Stakeholders cautioned the company not to mistake the community’s openness and hospitality for weakness, insisting that mining firms must show seriousness, respect, and transparency.

Despite this setback, the forum was widely praised for its impact, coordination, and community engagement, marking a significant step in preparing Dormaa for responsible mining and sustainable development.

Addressing party supporters and delegates during an engagement as part of his flagbearership campaign, the former Education Minister indicated that politics should not merely revolve around slogans and party colours, but must serve as a vehicle for social and economic transformation.

“Politics must impact lives. If our leadership does not improve the living conditions of the people, then we have failed,” Dr Adutwum stated.

“Ghanaians deserve leadership that solves problems, expands opportunities, and creates a future of hope for every family.”

He highlighted education, innovation, and human capital development as key pillars of his vision for national progress, noting that Ghana’s greatest resource is its people.

According to him, strategic investments in skills development, job creation, and technology will dramatically improve livelihoods and accelerate national development.

Dr Adutwum argued that leadership must go beyond promises, pointing out that effective governance requires courage, vision, and the ability to implement policies that address poverty, unemployment, and inequality.

He stressed that his track record in the education sector demonstrates his commitment to practical, impactful solutions.

The flagbearer aspirant urged party delegates to choose a leader who understands the needs of ordinary Ghanaians and has the capacity to drive transformative change.

Vice President Opoku-Agyemang addresses Seventh AU–EU Summit in Luanda

By Iddi Yire, GNA

Accra, Nov 25, GNA – Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has addressed the Seventh African Union-European Union (EU) in Luanda, Angola, where she conveyed warm greetings from President John Dramani Mahama and congratulated Angolans on their 50th independence celebration.

“We are grateful to the Government of Angola and the African Union Commission for their warm hospitality,” she said.

Vice President Opoku-Agyemang reflected in on the AU–EU partnership, which was built on shared values and a commitment to development.

She highlighted the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) as one of their greatest achievements, which enabled African-led responses to conflict.

However, she noted that Africa continued to face deepening vulnerabilities, from climate shocks to geopolitical tensions and piracy and called for urgent, coordinated action to address the challenges.

Vice President Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said Ghana entered the summit with renewed confidence.

She explained that “Our 2026 budget, for instance, rests on three pillars that align with AU–EU priorities: Restoring macroeconomic stability, investing in infrastructure and connectivity, and placing jobs and human capital at the centre of policy.”

She said this would strengthen Ghana’s ability to contribute meaningfully to Africa’s transformation agenda.

She also called for sustained financial, technical, and logistical support from partners to reinforce the AU’s Peace and Security Protocol.

Focusing on West Africa, Vice President Prof. Opoku-Agyemang underscored the region’s dynamic economies and vibrant youth.

“However, the region also faces challenges, notably, violent extremism driven by poverty, exclusion, and resource pressures,” she said.

She announced Ghana’s intention to convene a meeting on extremism to enhance regional coordination.

The Vice President welcomed the EU’s Global Gateway Initiative and its €150 billion commitment to Africa’s sustainable development.

She also emphasised Ghana’s priorities, including: An EU waiver for offshore patrols, Support for replacing essential components of the Kpone Hydro Dam, and Assistance for the Damongo Water Facility.

She observed that 2025 was the African Union’s Year for Reparations, with Ghana serving as the AU Champion.

She said Ghana was preparing to table a UN resolution recognising the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade as one of history’s gravest crimes against humanity and urged European partners to join as co-authors.

The Vice President also commended the European Group for their support of the Africa Group at the UN Human Rights Council.

Joe Cole Urges Chelsea To Target Antoine Semenyo

Antoine Semenyo

Chelsea legend Joe Cole has encouraged his former club to consider a move for AFC Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, whose explosive start to the Premier League season has put several top-flight clubs on alert.

The Ghana international has been one of Bournemouth’s standout performers this campaign, registering six goals and three assists in 11 Premier League matches.

His form has elevated his profile across Europe, particularly after signing a new long-term contract that reportedly includes a £65 million release clause.

Despite Chelsea’s significant depth on the wings—bolstered by summer arrivals Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens, as well as the early-season emergence of 18-year-old Estevão—Cole believes Semenyo would be an instant upgrade for Enzo Maresca’s side.

“Knowing Chelsea, he might be too old!” Cole joked in an interview with Paddy Power. “I’d have to check his age, but from a football perspective, if he’s available and he wants to come, it’s a no-brainer in terms of bringing him into the football club. With Chelsea’s model, there’ll be a financial element and evaluation element to it… He’d be a welcome addition to the squad, and he probably starts, because he’s been superb for Bournemouth.”

However, Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has dismissed any concerns over Semenyo’s future, insisting the forward remains firmly part of his plans.

Semenyo’s growing influence and goal return have made him one of the Premier League’s breakout players this season, prompting increasing interest as the mid-season transfer window approaches.

Government procures 540 motorbikes for Agricultural Extension Agents

By Iddi Yire, GNA

Accra, Nov 24, GNA – The Government through the Ministry of Food and Agriculture is procuring 540 motorbikes to facilitate Agricultural Extension Agents (AEA) mobility.

Mr Eric Opoku, the Minister of Food and Agriculture, said 150 of these motorbikes were distributed on Tuesday, 22nd July 2025.

He said a total of 400 AEAs were being recruited as Feed Ghana Coordinators for all districts, and that their motorbikes were almost ready for deployment.

“It is our hope that the Ghana Food Brigade will be launched before the end of December this year,” Mr Opoku stated on Monday, when he took his turn at the Presidency Communications Bureau’s meeting the Press Accountability Series, held at the Presidency in Accra.

As part of efforts to strengthen the Frontline of Knowledge Transfer to Agricultural Extension Officers, Mr Opoku said the role of Agricultural Extension Officers could not be overemphasised. Adding that they were the bridge between research and farming practices — bringing innovation and science to the farm gate.

“However, the current Extension Agent to Farmer ratio in Ghana is far below the international standard,” he said.

“While the acceptable ratio is 1 AEA to 500 farmers, in Ghana, it is 1 AEA to over 1,500 farmers. This gap constrains knowledge transfer and adoption of modern agricultural practices.”

The Minister said as part of efforts to address the issue, 10,000 youth were being enrolled on the National Service scheme under a four-year programme.

He said each year, a portion of the youth would be retained as permanent Ministry staff to augment agricultural extension delivery.

“This is to clear the backlog of students who have completed the Ministry’s agricultural and veterinary colleges from 2015 up to date and have not been posted,” he said.

Mr Opoku reiterated that by investing in the frontline of service delivery, the Ministry was cementing the foundation for modern, climate-smart and data-driven agriculture.

The Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA) has announced a new minimum producer price for fresh mangoes for the 2025 minor season, following a successful multi-stakeholder engagement aimed at promoting fairness and sustainability within the mango value chain.

In a collaborative meeting involving the Federation of Associations of Ghanaian Exporters (FAGE) and the National Mango Growers Association (NMGA), stakeholders reached a consensus to peg the minimum producer price at GH¢4.18 per kilogram.

The decision follows extensive deliberations focused on balancing farmer welfare, export competitiveness, and broader industry sustainability.

TCDA Chief Executive Officer, Dr Andy Osei Okrah, who participated virtually, commended the stakeholders for their constructive engagement and commitment to industry growth.

He reaffirmed TCDA’s regulatory mandate and emphasised the Authority’s dedication to ensuring that producer prices reflect fair value for farmers while maintaining equity across all levels of the value chain.

Dr Okrah further highlighted the importance of such engagements in strengthening collaboration among value chain actors, enhancing livelihoods, and supporting Ghana’s long-term aspirations for a competitive and resilient mango industry.

The newly agreed price is expected to bolster farmer confidence, encourage improved production practices, and contribute to a more stable market environment ahead of the 2025 minor season.

Further reports indicate that Baba married in early August 2025, and his wife is currently pregnant. The female colleague was also reportedly preparing for her own wedding, scheduled for December 2025.
