So far, 86 cases have been reported across the state,\u201d Oshiomhole stated.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the ministry is employing surveillance, case management, vector control, and environmental sanitation to manage the situation.<\/p>\n<p>READ MORE:https:\/\/www.informationng.com\/2025\/07\/gov-yusuf-makes-seven-new-appointments-into-key-positions-in-kano.html<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have put measures in place, including surveillance, case management, vector control, and environmental sanitation in affected areas,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The commissioner explained that dengue fever is a viral infection transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito and spreads rapidly in areas with stagnant water and poor sanitation.<\/p>\n<p>He urged residents to destroy mosquito breeding grounds, cover water containers, use insect repellents, and sleep under mosquito nets.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Oshiomhole also disclosed that Lassa fever has claimed 24 lives from 137 confirmed cases in 2025.
