A 55-year-old man from Babangida in Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State has allegedly killed his 40-year-old wife with a machete for reasons yet to be determined before fleeing to an undisclosed location.<\/p>\n

The Yobe State Police Command has confirmed the incident through its Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, in a statement issued on Saturday, noting that efforts are ongoing to track down the suspect, identified as Hamidu Ali.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn June 28, 2025, at about 11 am, Tarmuwa Divisional Police Headquarters received a distress call from inhabitants of Koriyel Village, Babangida Tarmuwa LGA, indicating that Hamidu Ali, 55, attacked and macheted his wife, 40, to death for unknown reasons and fled.<\/p>\n

\u201cEfforts are underway to apprehend the suspect\u201d, the command said.<\/p>\n

In a related update, the Yobe State Police Command reported the arrest of two individuals linked to a case of alleged homicide and vandalism, noting that one other suspect has yet to be apprehended.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn June 27, 2025, at about 5 pm, operatives of the Fika Divisional Police Headquarters apprehended Musa Sule, 25, and Muntari Suleman, 30, of Ngalda Town, Fika LGA, for the brutal killing of a victim over alleged theft of a cellphone and power bank.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe suspects have confessed to the crime, and investigations are ongoing at the State CID for subsequent prosecution,\u201d said the police command.<\/p>\n

In his statement, Yobe State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado, encouraged community members to abide by the law and seek redress through lawful means rather than handling disputes personally.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe appeal to the good people of Yobe State to promote peaceful resolution of conflicts and support law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and order in their communities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Commissioner Ado cautioned against the unlawful pursuit of justice under the pretense of addressing grievances.<\/p>\n
