Academic Board of Kogi State Polytechnic in Lokoja, has asked 273 students to withdraw\u00a0 over poor academic performance, expelling six others for examination malpractices.<\/p>\n
The institution\u2019s Director of Public Relations and Protocol, Uredo Omale, in a statement on Monday, said that the development was part of the decisions reached at the 120th meeting of the board held on April 17, 2025, at the boardroom of the polytechnic main campus, located in Lokoja.<\/p>\n
Omale expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of some students which led to their withdrawal, despite provision of conducive atmosphere for learning for the students.<\/p>\n
She noted that the withdrawals spread across 20 departments and 42 programmes, including Business Administration, Accountancy, Fine Art, Building Technology, Civil Engineering and Computer Science.<\/p>\n
Other affected departments were Animal Health and Production, Library Science, Mass Communication, Office Technology and Management.<\/p>\n
Omale added that six other students were expelled from the polytechnic on account of examination misconduct and related offences.<\/p>\n
